Hi Everyone,finally getting some nicer weather in scotland this week it's up to twenty two degrees centigrade today, woop woop.

Anyway having now signed up for theFE, i have a couple of questions, we are a family of four but we have two cabins not sure who will be with who in the sleeping arrangements yet but should i just have one extender for the whole family and just put it on one of our cabin doors or should i put and extender on each cabin door?

Second question is i have had a look on the uk ebay and there are no FE's for sale so i was having a look around for other hanging storage that might be possible to use and customise myself (i can hear you all say "make your own" but the thought of that breaks me out in a sweat lol the only craft i could do is with the 3 year old kids i work with and even the kids sometimes laugh at that.)

Anyway i have found something but not sure if it might be too big to fit on the cabin door or wherever it is hung.
The dimensions are as follows SIZE: HEIGHT 39" X WIDTH 24"

Any advice will be gratefull

It sounds like it may be easier for you to just have one FE for the whole family. You could just have everyone listed for the one cabin and then just disburse to whomever. I know there is directions for a no sew one but I didn't attempt that either. I had my husband make ours since he loves that kind of stuff.
I don't know about the dimensions but someone will chime in.

I found FE's on the Ebay.UK site. They are coming from the United States but are listed with the £ symbol.

I got mine from Gradysmommy. She does wonderful work. Some of the ones listed are from her and yes she ships overseas.

We have two cabins too, and I put my daughter and my granddaughter on our Fish Extender even though she doesn't live with us. Just thought it would be easier to put us all on the same FE. I did a three pocket extender. My husband and I are on one pocket and then Heather and Tori each have their own pockets.

NOW, yes, there IS a Tshirt. I have NOT posted the link in the first post because we may be switching companies to print it. Same design, different printer. The first company is not so happy with our Stitch logo, and wants a new group name. So I've been seeking alternatives. AS SOON AS I know for certain ordering info will be posted here in the thread and on the first post.

And for those who want to "look good" (you know who you are ) getting on the cruise will find that most of us just want to be dressed in clothes

But this whole thing is going to be decided upon very shortly, simply because I am running out of time to mess with it all other than the ordering

We call our exchange a "Fish Extender Exchange" because there is a fish hanging right outside your stateroom door. Its for mail and stuff. We hang the extenders form it so everyone can deposit their gifts. I don't remember the dimensions offhand. But the ones you mentioned are waayyy too wide. You definitely need something much narrower. I did post links to FE threads in the first post. Not sure if 1 of them has the directions for the extender. I made my own for our last cruise and will be re-using it this time around as well. I just used some iron on seams to hold it all together and while I'll admit its not as nice as anything you can buy on ebay, nor has it held a lot of stuff since the last cruise, it still looks pretty good. And I have no sewing capabilities whatsoever

Also since you are all 1 family you may just want to do 1 extender and choose which door it will hang from. That way nobody gets confused and thinks that they counted wrong for their gifts. Like ME

Just to help..for anyone that needs extra help on making their FE, you can go to the DCL FAQ thread at the top, scroll down to FE's, how to, and the no-sew instructions!

Don't forget to make room in the luggage for all the FE stuff you will be bringing home with you too. You might need to bring an extra suitcase.

I checked out the suitcase situation today...Oh my word! If I EVEN mention another suitcase, Pat (my dh) is gonna kill me...So hopefully, I'll have a big bag or something or can divide and conquer it if I need too!
