Just booked our third Disney Magic cruise! It's going to be great! Cruising with my husband, daughter and 23 month old granddaughter! Oh and my 92 year old dad! What an age range! Disney is fun for EVERYONE...the young and young at heart!

Wow! How much fun! This is our first, traveling with our inlaws, ds24, dd23 and 12 dd, so we are pumped! It'll be great to put names to faces and see our fellow dis'ers! Have you been on the Eastern before?

We are sooo excited! And I'd like to wish all the newbies on here a big WELCOME too...(but I don't know how to do all that fancy stuff like the blinking welcome;)).!!!!

I love the countdowns (so encouraging after a hard day or week), and love hearing from veterans on everything! We are on deck 6 by TA default lol! But we did get sideways rooms (which I hear are nice but really don't have a clue:goodvibes). I think alot of folks are on the other side of the ship, and I have a feeling for us, it'll be a looonnnngggg walk for my FIL. But not changing now, so he'll just get extra exercise!

But it's so cool meeting our fellow dis'ers beforehand!!

Ok...I'll bite Maureen! Can you give us newbies some FE info? For instance, do you have to include FE's for your whole family? Since we're in 3 cabins, not sure the older set and the young adults want to take part. Are there alot of folks (ie: more than 50?), and if so, do you split up groups, or everyone do all? Do you do FE's for just one day or every day? Do you make homemade or buy and do you put limits or is it anyone's choice? And how do you get all that on the ship with all the luggage? See...popcorn:: some of us have been looking but afraid to ask!:rolleyes1

I can try to help a little. But I'm sure Maureen will have to add the specifics like how many participants we have and such.

Only those who want to partake need to sign up. And it goes by stateroom number. So you would just need a FE for the stateroom that is participating.

People participate in different ways too. Its flexible. Some people will give one gift per stateroom, some one per person, some deliver their gifts just once during the cruise, and others make deliveries every day. Its up to you!

You really don't have to spend a lot of time or money. Although, some people are pretty darn creative with thier gifts. But do what works for you. Regional gifts are popular. And little trinkets like you would give in goody bags at birthday parties.....that type of thing.

Its really the game of it that is fun. My kids had a blast seeing little surprises every night when we'd go back to our cabin. They had fun making deliveries and trying not to get caught too.

I took some pics of our FE loot on our last cruise....I'll try to dig those up.

Here are some pics of our FE gifts from our 2009 cruise:

When we got home the kids dumped everything on a table to divvy it up. We had a really large group on that cruise and there was a TON of stuff!

Thanks!! And you have room in your suitcases for all those extras?

I always pack one of those foldable duffle bags when I travel. So that was completely filled with FE gifts on our way home. BUT, that particular cruise had a HUGE group. I don't think ours will be that large.

And my gifts were very small and suitcase-friendly. So I had no problem getting everything on the ship. Its getting things off the ship that is always the problem!

Also - some folks who did more elaborate/larger gifts sent a box to DCL prior to the cruise. I didn't do that myself. But I know its possible to ship something down and receive it when you board.

Really, it doesn't have to be that big of a deal. Just think of something lightweight and flat. :thumbsup2

Whoa! Was that a Halloween cruise?!?

Wow ...ton of gifts!!! With all our suitcases, and flying, we're going to have to come up with something creative, light and invisible...lol!

But it does look like a ball!!!

No. It was the DVC Member cruise in early Sept. But a lot of people used a Halloween theme with their gifts.

Well, I could always pass out 'Elvis' postcards...:rotfl:

or....Jerry Lee Lewis bookmarks :rotfl2: (he lives down the street)

Not sure the kids would get into those ;)

Those would actually make excellent FE gifts! The adults get into it just as much as the kids do. Throw a piece of candy or a sucker in there and you'd make everyone happy.

Kill me now Kelly!!!:rotfl2: We live around so much of that stuff, I don't think I'd have the heart to do that to someone! I really was jk!

And all your pics really do look like Halloween Trick or Treating! Amazing!

Y'all have a good night, and ttyl!

Not stupid....sorry I didn't clarify.

It stands for Disney Vacation Club.

It is Disney's version of a timeshare.

Ah.....ok! Well, I guess in my case it would still be Disney Veteran Cruiser :P

Oh sullins5, I think the Elvis gifts would be awesome FE gifts! Random gifts are the best!

Well, I gotta check out.....I hafta get ready for work :surfweb:

This cruise can't come soon enough!

KellyJean: you should come over to the WISH Boards and the Biggest Loser thread. that's what I'm doing. No specific program lately due to the neighborhood but BL keeps me motivated not to go too far off the deep end. Can join any time during the challenge. And there are quite a few doing the Princess:thumbsup2

OK, now someone please tell me I am not losing what little mind I have left, when I ask if the colors on the Cruise board are different

Thanks, Maureen! I will go check it out.

And I was thinking things looked different over here too. Unless maybe I'm also losing my mind. :upsidedow

We have decided to go to WDW next month for a week. My daughter has Spring break then and she will meet us there. We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas. We normally like to stay at the Beach Club Villas but everything is sold out everywhere. We will stay about a week and then stop by Hilton Head for a couple of days on the way home.

Anyone else there in March?
It is the start of the International Flower and Garden Show.
,

I wish!!!!

I love AKV. It is one of my favorite places to stay. Although BCV is my first choice during Food & Wine. I'll try not to be too jealous of your trip.

:welcome: Marie and glad you could join our party. Beth I am so excited for you and happy that our Deck 6 should be a happening place.:rolleyes1 Your wedding will be so beautiful on Castaway Cay. I hope you don't mind us lurking in the background. Is it swimsuit coverup appropriate?

Swimsuit coverup is appropriate as long as the correct accessories are used. You must have a marguarita in your hand :)
