Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

Why not just add cash to the envelopes if you want to tip more? That way the ticket is right, but you've just added on.

We typically use an entirely different card for tips not the one we put on our room board account.

So now I have to go to guest services and stand in line twice to tip instead of just once.

Switch Villains Tonight for the Golden Mickeys. That's all i know about. I'm bummed because we missed the Golden Mickeys on our last trip and now its gone:guilty:

We preferred Gold Mickeys over Villians Tonight too.

I'm hoping we have good entertainers onboard.

And we're hoping Real Steel will be showing onboard too.

 Oh ya, that's what I heard, what a bummer!!! Lucky I got to see it this past summer on the Dream, but really bummed that my newbie Dsis won't get to see it.

You're just gonna have to book a cruise on the Dream to see it again then! ;)

Can you arrange online to tip with the other card or do you have a TA that can do it for you?

That's what I'd do.

What show does the Dream have that the Magic and wonder don't?

Unless the dream starts doing 7 night itineraries we ain't getting on any year soon. Any less than 7 nights is not enough for us.

Us too.

We have the Fantasy booked, so it will probably the first of the new ships we sail on.

Unless Disney offers a phenomenal deal on the Dream that is - :lmao:

Golden Mickeys was showing, it was the new remake of the old one. No more Roy, and they added some new scenes. Then they have the Dreams own show called Believe. In a way similar to Disney Dreams on the Wonder. Like any new show, some people like it, some don't. Our family did enjoy it.

Thanks. And to good to hear they've updated Golden Mickey's.

I have to agree, it was too short!!! But it was the only option available for our DDs 21st birthday, and it was a CC Double Dip 5 night cruise. We are such an active family and LOVE CC, so the double dip helped to balance the fact that it was just 5 day. And the kids have only done one 7 night. Two 4 nights, so the 5 night was a little longer then what they are used to. But still WAY too short. The longer cruises are just too hard to find the time and money for all five of us. My favorites are the two Transatlantics that DH and I have done! :lovestruc

And now for a serious thought...a little help on this one please?

My big ones came down today and asked about their phones on the ship. Dh and I use the 3GS, while they have 4G's. Is it JUST the airplane mode that stays on? Or do we have to keep them off the whole time? Yes, I know there's a thread somewhere, but I need regular english..can someone tell me EXACTLY what you go to in settings? And can you still cut on the phone to see the clock? Can you still play downloaded apps? I told my ds I didn't think so...but hey...:confused3 what do I know?

And is it ok to turn the phone on (or whatever) to text to find out if the animals are ok? Isn't that about .50 each time?

Thanks and pixiedust: to whoever knows all this electronic stuff!:worship:

As long as your phone stays in airplane mode you can keep in on to play Angry Birds (or whatever other addictive games you have installed) all you want with no charge.

I just checked with my carrier, Verizon, and the cost to make calls on the ship is $2.49/min. Text messages are $.50 per message sent and $.05 per message received.

Do you have to add anything to your Verizon plan for international for those rates?

Yeah, 1 of them special itineraries or a great holiday cruise making it worth quitting my job at Target for(Who wants to buy AVON:banana: jk MODS) :lmao:

Looks like you'll get the movie. Somebody called for the movies on the cruise after ours and Real Steel is on their list and noted as premiering on the ship 10/7, so that's the night before we embark:thumbsup2

We're doing one of the Puerto Rico cruises next December and I'll let you in on little secret - it cost $200 LESS than this cruise.

Both were onboard bookings too.

We can't afford the holiday cruises but would love to do one someday.

Very nice - I was thinking of calling tomorrow.
