Magic in Northern Europe May 30 2015

We will be sailing with you all first time as Gold! DH, DD and Myself. We would love to participate in FE and Recipe Exchange. I am so excited!

Hi Everyone!

We are signed up for this cruise also.
On this cruise, it will be my husband, myself and our son who will be 3.5 years at time of sailing.

I am so glad to see some others traveling with toddlers on this cruise!
As a family of 3, we'll have been on 3 Disney Cruises by the time this one comes around, but it's our first time taking our little guy to Europe.

So excited to begin planning for this awesome trip!

:) Michele

Welcome to the group! How exciting to experience it all with your son!

I just got off the Fantasy yesterday. We still have this cruise booked. I didn't chicken out and change it like I did in 2012 (from a Med cruise to a Western Caribbean). We're headed to Europe in 2015!!

Excellent news!!:cool1:

Just got back from a wonderful med cruise with the Magic and booked on board for this cruise as well. I'm thinking of doing Vienna and Germany pre-cruise as we did London and Paris this time and loved it. Any thoughts ?

I just got back from Bavaria last summer and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing I would suggest, if you plan on doing a concentration camp tour, do that first before heading to the other towns and cities. I ended my 6 week vacation with that tour and it was very depressing at the end. I really hadn't given it a lot of thought until the end of the vacation when I was touring and realized that was my last day.

Other than that, both countries are incredible!! Enjoy:goodvibes

What date is the platinum PIF for booking excursions ect.?

Thanks,

Jennifer:moped:

No concentration camp. I'm travelling with 2 young kids. It will be a 2 week vacation including the cruise so Only 1 week split between Austria and Germany. Is there any particular city you would recommend?
Thanks.

Ok, that wasn't directed at me, but my suggestion is Fussen, Germany. The castles are lovely...Lech Falls and great little Bavarian towns...be sure to take the bus over to Oberramagau to see Ludwig's other castle that has the grotto, Linderhof. Very neat.

I'd like to know this as well...we will be platinum after our upcoming July 3rd Dream cruise. I'm hoping they do the ball at the palace again for an excursion for this cruise and want to book that asap.

What I did was stay in the same hotel in Munich and took day trips with my 3 kids. So we went to Salzburg, Ludwig's Castle, I guess we went up and down the Romantic Road mainly. I did end up going to a concentration camp, but my kids were 12, 10, and 8, so not little ones. I think they all appreciated the central location and coming back to the same room every night.

Every family travels so differently and with different age groups it is hard to know what your little ones would be up for. My kids LOVED the Sound of Music tour is Salzburg, but someone else might not think that interesting at all.

That's a great plan. Are the day trips too long/tiring? I'm thinking of staying in Viena then moved on to Germany.

I would definitely stay in Vienna then move on to Germany. I didn't get that far into Austria. Check flights as well as the train because sometimes the flights are less expensive. I think we did Salzburg and Innsbruck as day trips from Munich. They were longer day trips, so if you are already in Vienna, stopping for overnights in the other towns might be easier for your crew.
