"Magic" happened yesterday....met a well known DISer

Hey, don't go talking about Doc and Elvis in the same sentence. The tabloids will have a picture say Doc IS Elvis

I'm not so sure he isn't!!
I've never met him, but I did catch a glimspe of a pick caddy pulling out of Miller's Road today!!???????? :scared1:

:smooth:

What fun for you guys! I'm so jealous! I was there this past weekend (can I talk to whoever was in charge of the weather?!) and had a BIG lime green ribbon bow on my backpack and my lime green mickey head with my user name on it on my lanyard tied on with a lime green ribbon and I didn't meet even one DISer :sad2: I'm not a big t-shirt fan, but maybe I'll have to get one!

I never wear T-shirts either (well, just as an undershirt  ). Now a light lime-green polo shirt would be great. Possibly able to get our username embroidered on it (of course in SMALLER type size than the DIS logo). Maybe it could become the 'official' DVC - DIS uniform  (Other DIS boards could have their own colors.

Haven't met anyone yet, but I know I'll meet some of you on the Members Cruise, lime green on or not! I am looking forward to that.

I do have the lime green mouse ears paint chip sewn onto my camera case.

jimmytammy and webmasterDoc,
I was there on the day you met also. It was great to meet both of you and your wives. My family is always giving me a hard time about reading the DIS, but they also want to know what I have learned on here. I always tell them about this gentleman that seems to know everything about all the resorts and what is going on at WDW. Now I have actually met him. It was great. We had a great trip Jan7-Jan 16. Our son ran the Marathon and we walked the 5K. My husband says we are walking the half-marathon next year. The weather was great and we enjoyed having our children and our grandchild at SSR with us. In fact our DS and DIL bought while they were there. They are so excited! I will try to post a trip report later, got to get caught up on my work here in the office first.

Keep wearing those lime green shirts. We got a jacket for volunteering at the marathon and it is lime green also. I told my family that it could be my DIS jacket.

:cool1: :wave2:

I have been reading how you folks are meeting eachother by wearing green shirts or mickey's. I am going in March and would love to meet some people. Were do I buy this gear?
Thanks

I remember running into SueMN at OKW - that was so nice! She and I may stick out a little more than the average DVCer because we each have kids on wheels.

I also met a DISer when I was wearing the old gray DIS shirt a few years ago - I was vegging in DTD and she introduced herself because of my shirt. I'm saying this because not all the DIS shirts are lime green! Maybe before i go this year i'll get a new one! However, with my size - something in lime green may not be the most flattering!! :earseek:

It is such fun to meet each other. I hope to meet LibertyBelle when I check in in April. :jumping4:

That's a great idea! I thought a polo shirt with embroidery would be nice as well. I'd be willing to do lime green, but what a great idea to have different colors for different boards! I could wear a Community Board shirt one day, a DVC board shirt the next, then a Cruise Board shirt....packing would be easy!

Like Doc, I have worn my moderator shirt many times to the park. I have only been sighted once. It was at Cape May at the clam bake. It was really fun.

Thats right, we did meet you at the front of American Adventure. We met so many DISers over the previous weekend (around 40 at one time) at Trails End the night before the marathon that I had a hard time remembering them all. But it was really cool meeting all the DISers in such a short amount of time.

And what a coincidence, we were staying at SSR also!

We ate at the Trail's End that evening also. We had to wait an hour for a table. My son ran the marathon and he wanted to load up on some good carbs that night. Boy were they busy. It is a good place to eat though. Too bad I didn't know that there were Dis'ers there. I could have introduced myself. Oh well, maybe next time. My husband and I are trying to plan another trip this year. Maybe May or September. Can't decide. Again, it was good meeting you.

:grouphug:

I'm always on the look out, but have never bumped into another DISer. We did meet up with anniet and her man once, but that was pre-arranged. Does that count? :drinking:

Thanks for posting! It was great to meet you last week too. I had missed your name at the time, so I'm glad you're putting a name with the face now. :)

That's why they were so busy!

Its funny you mention this. We got there at 4:15 with all the other 40 or so DISers and got seated guickly. A few days ago Trails End announced they would start taking PS. I told DW it might have been because of the massive amount of people standing on their porch that night! :earseek:

Hey Jimmy-

I thought the MAGIC of meeting a Diser was going to be about meeting me and Alan!

Just kidding- Sorry we weren't with you when you met Doc- He's been very helpful and I really would have liked to talk with him.

Doc- DH and I bought a house in Cocoa and hope to be in it soon.

PM me when your down again and we'll come meet you so you won't feel so lonely! ;)

And Maistre Gracey- I'm SHOCKED that I'm the only DISer you've met! Please let us know when you'll be down again too....Alan and I would love to see you and Missus Gracey again!

We met mdonley this week, actually had the room right next door at VWL. Saw his shirt in line for the boat after MK closing, and DW and I speculated that it could be Doc, finally caught him on the way walk back to VWL and asked his name. ... The shirts certainly make it easier to approach someone!

It was great meeting you and your family. I also met WebmasterDoc (he's a celebrity in my book!) while he was getting his hair cut (I got the chair next ... Pixie dust too! ... DW says, "Grow up!")

I got the DIS shirt just for the trip. Picked up lots of lime green Mickey paint samples at Home Depot, put them in laminating plastic (used an iron) and attached them to everything (luggage, backpack, DW's purse). It sure made picking out our luggage at the airport a lot easier! The shirt was autographed by Mickey, Pluto, Stich, and Buzz. I didn't know that they don't sign shirts while you're wearing them ... fortunately DW bought me a 2005 WDW shirt while I was getting the hair cut! That shirt certainly did attract attention from adults and kids alike! Although I might have been disappointed that I only met 2 DISers, I was more than happy to tell everyone about the DISboards that asked ... including one CM at VB. DW told me that I was advertising ... Heck yeah!
