Magic Formula to Point Usage?

Does anyone always use their exact points everyyear to net to zero, or is there always some left to bank, or in some cases borrow? The math never adds up to exactly 210, what we have, and wondering how others handle this. For example we will have six points left after our stay in Nov. Knowing the banking rules, I guess I could bank them or borrow from the year ahead and go again for a few nights? Thanks for the info.

I actually looked at the point charts when purchasing and totaled the points for all the seasons in each unit. I picked our unit size and divided it by 2 (add-on for use every other year) That's how I figured out we would need an odd number of points for our add-ons like buy 56 instead of 55 or the popular # 50 points. I would hate to have to borrow/transfer/rent 1 point every time and that 1 point can make a big difference. All our contracts are odd numbers, but it's based on the point charts and how the units total.

It is easy to just bank or borrow and I have seen some people in situations where they will just rent the few points they need each year. There are lots of options so even if your points are not exact, it is easy to work with.

Some trips are longer than others, sometimes we travel with family and on top of that, and we don't always reserve the same type of accomodations. THe BWV also give s us the option of standard vs preferred.

Don't think we've ever used exactly our allotment during the use year. I just bank or borrow and other than that, I don't worry about it.

We have never used exactly 380 points in a given year, but we are usually in a state of banking. This last year we borrowed, so there are fewer points available this time. I will end up borrowing 1 point if I decide to bit the bullet and spend the 100 points neede for New Years Eve! Right now I am booked from 1/1/06-1/10/06 and plan on spending Saturday (NYE) at a cash resort.
