Magic Express Question

Just went to my TA today, and found out that she's on vaction for 2 weeks, so she won't be back until Aug 03 or so. She booked the packgage for me, and I book the airline. So just wanted to tell her flight number and time. So I asked the other TA if she could help me. She was very clueless, she told me that the magic express option is totally useless and it only transport my luggage, I told her no, it does transfer my luggage, but I also get the transfer to and from the hotel. So after telling her it wasn't true, she called disney. Disney tells her that I can't book Magic express since my airline NORTHWEST isn't on the participating airline. My trip is for Aug 27th-Sept04.

So my question is what should I do? Can I book this transportation part myself? I am not even sure what I am asking lolz. Can I book this online somehow? Is there a line I can call specifically for this. Do you think that they will let me book it myself? Or should I wait until my TA comes, or will this be too late for her to book it for me?

I would call DIsney... I don't have a clue what you TA is doing, but it doesn't sound like they do either! Wonder what she was trying to book with Disney.

Do you have your hotel confirmation? They may need that. Disney will transport you and your luggage to thier hotel. They will transport you and your luggage back to the airport. You just can't give your luggage to them early the last morning and forget about it, you have to haul it on the bus... no biggie.

Not to sound cynical, but did this other TA have the call on speaker or did she just tell you what was said in the other half of the conversation?
EVERYBODY flying in to MCO can use DME. Disney sends you luggage tags. You put them on your luggage. You check in at your home airport. Your bags disappear and you don't see them again until after you get to your resort. You arrive in Orlando, go to the DME counter, check in, are directed to the correct bus and go to your Resort. Your luggage is processed behind the scenes by a different company. NO problems.

I love using a GOOD travel agent, but on my latest trip my mother-in-law INSISTED we use hers, and boy was she CLUELESS. I had to teach her all about DME, she'd never heard of it but still had opinions about it, anyway -- isn't that amazing?!

Reservations must be done at least 10 days in advance, preferably 21 days in advance. Normally ME reservations are done by your travel agent if he made the rest of your reservations. With only 10 or 11 days' advance notice ME might not send you the baggage tags in time but you still get the free bus ride.

If the travel agent is closed on vacation, you can try to make the ME reservation yourself. You do need to know when you are arriving at Orlando Airport and what airline you are coming in on. If worst comes to worst and you don't know this information, look up some, any, airline flight numbers with roughly the same time using Travelocity .com, you can change the reservations later to be more correct.

No she didn't put the speaker phone on. Thanks for all the help everybody!! I called and they told me I would have to go through my TA, so I would have to wait until the Aug 4th to book with the TA. I don't think I will let the other clueless TA do it. Do you think that my luggage tag will arrive on time, if my TA booked it on Aug 4? I
