Magic Express - How long did to take to get your bags?

We brought some carry on's and stored them under the bus with the rest of the luggage. When we got to the resort, they opened the bus and we pulled our carry on's out and brought them to the room with us. No worries with that, it seemed like everyone did the same thing.

Also, a REALLY cool thing that we didn't know about...
When you check out of the resort, we could get our boarding pass and check our luggage AT THE RESORT!!! It was awesome. I think it only works for the more mainstream airlines, but we flew Delta and it worked.

Believe me, we've had a horrible string of luggage mishaps at the airports recently (3 lost suitcases, and my wife's parents had their luggage completely lost and never recovered which included their clothing for the wedding). We were very skeptical about the whole ME thing but it really was flawless for us. We just got back on Saturday and we'll definitely do ME again without any hesitation.

I am interested in this too. We are arriving around noon and just going to take a carryon with swimsuits so we can go swimming in case our room isn't ready yet. Do I need to ask for early check-in prior to travelling or just take our chances when we get there?

I don't think you can request that. I mean, if there's a room available when you check in, you'll get it early - but they don't block rooms for early checkin if that makes sense.

We are using ME but bringing only carry ons so I won't have any checked baggage. Is airplane carry on baggage a carry on on ME too or do they store with with the rest of the luggage?

Nope, you can bring your carry on luggage onto the bus with you (well, it may have to go underneath)

That's a smart idea whenever you travel, not just for those using DME! Also, of course, pack all valuables, documents and medications in your carryon - anything you absolutely can't afford to lose. You never know when the airline will mislocate a piece of luggage

We used ME in June and it was great!! We had our bags in 2 hours.

Can someone explain how ME works. We were going to drive but now maybe flying and I will have to use ME. Do they get your bags for you? How do they know what is your's? Someone said that their airline wasn't included, how do you know and what do you do if your airline isn't included? Thank you!
