Do the large portholes in these rooms have the cushioned ledge to sit on like they do on the Disney Dream? Are the large portholes the same size as on Dream or slightly smaller? Thanks. Trying to plan next cruise....

Unless they were changed during her dry dock, no. The edges of the oceanview portholes (in my experience) is only about 6" wide. With a little 6-9" ledge just in front of it. You can kind of see the little ledge in this photo

Thanks for the reply and picture. One further question since you have the experience...

On the Disney site, the accommodation for deluxe ocean view says they have the queen bed, single sleeper sofa, and pull down berth (if sleeping four).

I read that to mean the berth is there at all times, but would only be pulled down if four people in room. However, in your picture, I do not see anything on ceiling that would indicate a pull down berth. Is it there and I am just missing it? Thanks if you know!

Some staterooms only sleep 3 and therefore do not have the upper bunk. If there is an upper bunk, it can be utilized regardless of the number of passengers.

Enjoy your cruise!

Not all oceanview sleep 4. The room we had didn't have the pull down bunk.

Here's a picture of one of the rooms with the beds open:

Shhh......9A cabins on deck 5 are quiet and hidden behind the forward elevators. Down the hall from the kids club, a few decks up to deck 9, a few decks down to the theater and dining. My favorite cabin on the Magic is 5012. Been there several times.

Hello! Does 5012 on the Disney Magic have a pulldown berth so it can sleep 4?

The easiest way to tell is to run a search on the DCL site for a party of 4 for your cruise, and see what rooms come up as an option. Then you can switch your party size back to 3 and book one of those rooms. Basically, when searching a for a room for a party of 4, the website hides all the rooms that only sleep 3.

ok thanks, we had an inside room booked, but they moved us to this room. We are a party of 4. So I will assume that if they moved us they know what they are doing? :D Or I will call and ask. Found some pics online but can't see the ceiling, just thought it might be easier to ask someone who had the room rather than wait on hold...

They will not move you to a room that does not have enough beds for your entire party.

No cushions, and the windows are smaller than the upper-level oceanview staterooms on the Dream. I sailed in a 9A oceanview on the Magic in October and pictures of my cabin are posted below. And it was very nice, btw. Even though the windows aren't mega-sized like on the Dream, they are still fairly large, and much better than the oceanview windows on other cruise lines. They let in plenty of light and offer a nice view.

Oh, well. That happens when posters reopen old threads. At least now there are some better pictures on the thread than before, so that anyone else who reads the thread will have a better idea of what type of view you get from the windows. It's useful information and is now in an active thread, so others will see it & it might help someone.
