I think you made the right choice. If you want to see the sights while sitting inside the room then you need the clear wall. My DM has mobility issues and spent a good deal of the Tracy Arm day sitting on the sofa in our room while watching the scenery. This way she didn't have to stand the entire time, just when she wanted to.

It now has mechanical equipment. Some are for the new splash area features. Probably other stuff, too.
