Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

I'm hoping our family will be joining you all on this cruise. This will be our first cruise and I'm trying to do as much research as I can to see if it's going to be a good fit since it's so much $$$!
I'm really excited about the possible trip, but we need to get through our August WDW trip first. I know there are only so many family suites, so I know I need to make decisions sooner rather than later.
We are a family of five with two girls 15 & 9 and my son who will be 12. I'll keep you posted, but it looks good that we will be embarking on a whole new Disney experience!

I hope this works out for your family. WDW is fabulous! You will have a wonderful time. I was just telling DH yesterday that we needed to plan another trip to WDW soon. Unfortunately, this December we will not have enough time to visit WDW. Oh well, I am super excited about the CRUISE! My DD is also 15 years old. Maybe, when the cruise gets closer and you confirm your plans, they can chat online.

I hope everybody is having an wonderful summer. I am really enjoying my month long vacation. The weather in SoCal is more like spring. It is very cool. I hope it warms up a bit. I know it will be HOT in September when we go back to school.

This week we had preferred dining for the World of Color at DCA. Dinner was good, but there was an earthquake. It cracked the "table." World of Color was cancelled. Disney gave us preferred viewing tickets to use at a later date. I hope to see it next week.

I am starting to think FE. I hope to have them somewhat organized in August because once school starts it is busy until the holidays. We will be spending Thanksgiving in Las Vegas. We will be celebrating the holiday with my sister's future in-laws. My mom has already started her FE, as well as organizing her DD's wedding. She is Super-Mom.

FYI-Michael's already has Halloween decorations. Wow, soon there will be Christmas decorations in the stores...That is good for us!

Talk to you soon!

Just wanted to pop on and say "hello". We have been booked on this cruise since Day 1 in connecting SPRs. Haven't had much time to devote to planning for this cruise yet. We just returned from a 2 week trip to WDW and this cruise is our next big trip so I hope to kick into planning mode soon.

Sailing will be myself, DH, DS12, DD10, DD6 and DS4. This will be our sixth Disney cruise. My sister will also be sailing with us, her first time on DCL. The kids have no idea yet about the trip, with the exception of my nosy son who was peeking at the passport applications and saw the dates and itinerary listed on there. Haven't figured out yet how to break the news to them that we won't be home for Christmas this year! :santa:

Welcome aboard to everybody!!!

We are soooo looking forward to it

Can't wait... Thanks for heads up on Michaels... We need new Pirate costumes this year for WDW and then in Dec for Pirate night...

:santa:pirate:

We just did a surprise cruise for our DDs. I had to take them out of the last few days of school so I colluded with their teachers to put together a scavenger hunt on the last day they were in school. They got the first clue when they got on the bus. All day they had to solve riddles to get the next clue from one of their teachers. The clues all had something to do with the cruise (to the Baltic) and what they had learned in school that year. So our middle daughter had to tell her teacher how a boat floats and our oldest had to talk about the Viking exploration to North America. The last clue told them that they wouldn't be in school the next day. When they got home from school we had the bags packed and ready to leave. They didn't quite get all the clues and thought we were going to Florida because it was a Disney cruise, but it was a great surprise! :thumbsup2

Our daughters will be 9, (just) 7, and (a few days shy of) 4.

We look forward to meeting everyone! Now that we have our Baltic cruise out of the way, we will be full-force planning for this one. We joined DVC on our Baltic cruise, so we are also trying to figure out the whole DVC thing for our WDW stay before the cruise.

HFC or IceSktr are one of you guys keeping the FE list?

Have we decided to also do a christmas ornament exchange at the DisMeet too? Or a SecretMickey exchange?

Also, is anyone interested in a group PALO brunch? Or a meet before the cruise at WDW? I think we've discussed these before, but I have complete forgotten what we've decided! :confused3

Welcome aboard Jane, Tony, and family. This cruise is going to be amazing.

Thanks for the welcome. Just back from a 2 week mini driving tour of Europe ( France, Spain & Portugal) Now we can concentrate on our cruise. This will be our 3rd cruise but our first at Christmas. DH is begining to panic about the thought of buying 6 "posh frocks" (2 each for me and 2 DD's!) Does any one know if we do have 2 formal nights?

On the 12-night Baltic we only had one formal night and one semi-formal night. Don't know what we'll have any more than that. We've done well getting kids' dresses from eBay very inexpensively. I'll be doing that again this year probably.

Kids are 13 & 22 so both in ladies size dresses so Ebay may not be an option but I'll look any way :)

Loved the scavenger hunt idea (very clever).

I do not mind organizing the FE list if HFC hasn't already. We are very interested in an ornament exchange, as well as a DisMeet. Unfortunately, we will be staying at the Hyatt so we will not be able to participate in a meet before the cruise at WDW.

Where did you get our cruise logo? How did you personalize it? I am thinking that they would make fabulous door magnets.

Wow, sounds like an incredible drive. Where do you live?

For formal dresses you may want to check out Chadwicks online. They have several dresses for reasonable prices. Last 10 day cruise I believe we had two formal nights and two semi formal nights. It was three years ago so my memory may be inaccurate. I guess we could call DCL and check.

Hello!

We are very excited to participate in our first FE! Alas, I haven't reached 10 posts yet and cannot PM anyone! So...we are a family of five with myself (Vanessa), my DH (Matt), my DS (Brendan - age 10), my DS (Tristan - age 7), and my DD (Madison - age 3). We're in stateroom 8034.

Am I the only one who is happy that it's now paid for, and we can start planning ?!

Greetings all.

Sorry, I have been away for awhile. It will take some time to catch up. To reintroduce myself, it is myself, DW, DD14 and DD12. The family is starting to get excited.
