Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

My family and I were originally planning to cruise the Baltic next summer, but we decided that this Christmas cruise is a better fit for our family's vacation needs. We have spent Christmas at Disneyland's Grand California, and that was very magical. I cannot only imagine how magical it will be spending Christmas on a Disney cruise.

This is our story as well. We've moved our Baltic Cruise to this one. There are FIVE of us. Me, DW, and three DD's. 23, 18 and 16 at time of this sailing. We're pretty sure our friends from Georgia will be joining us as well.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.... Jeff

pfishgirl: I offer you my deepest sympathy. My family's prayers and thoughts are with you. Thank you for welcoming us aboard.

tinksmom: I know that we have a LONG way to go before December 2010, but remember planning and looking forward to this trip are some of the best parts. Usually, after a cruise I suffer from the post-cruise blues because the cruise is over, as well as the planning and the looking forward to it are over. My DD, Raven, will be 15 at the time of the cruise. She just turned 14 in June.

Monstro: Good choice switching from the Baltic to this Christmas cruise. My family decided to switch because we wanted to relax and enjoy each other. When we did the Mediterranean, it was go, go go! There was no rest for the weary, and we felt that this would be true with the Baltic too.

thegales and Dreamsoftravel: Thanks for the kind welcome. Look forward to sailing with you.

I joined the facebook group. Facebook is a little foreign to me (not an expert with technology). I have no idea how to twitter, blog, or myspace. So Facebooking will be a process for me.

Look forward to getting to know you all and sharing cruise tips/plans. Other things that I am looking forward to are: Legally Blonde the Musical at the Pantages in Hollywood, the beginning of a new school year, Labor Day at Disneyland, and a quick trip to Las Vegas. Talk to you soon.

:grouphug: Thank You

Well since the NEW itineraries will announced September 11th.. The day before DH & I set sail.. Our Christmas cruise may get changed.. Probably ONLY if we can be on the Disney Dream.. Not sure..

:confused3

Greetings.

We have not had a lot of activity over at Facebook, so I don't think we abandoned this thread for Facebook. I just think we are a quiet bunch. For us, I think we are 80% certain that we are going. That might be the case for most of us, and don't want to get too "attached".

In Google Earth, I created a chart of our cruise. I was able to save it as a file, but I could not figure out how to save it as a link. If I figure out the link, I will post it.

Speaking of Facebook, is there a Leslie here? We are doing our best to make sure only that all group members are part of the cruise

That's me - have been lurking. We booked the cruise back in March - but wanted to make sure it was a definite before participating online.

I am sorry that I have not been posting lately. We are going on a cruise in 9 weeks  and I have been involved in that, plus school starting, a new job, kids activities starting up...you get the picture.

Nice long weekend...I will go back and read what I have been missing and catch up.

I would say that we are 100% going on this cruise. My husband will not be happy with me if we do not since i told him we could do Christmas and the one coming up soon. I think I would downgrade my category before cancelling so we are definitly a go!

Have a great labor day weekend everyone!!!!

With you there on facebook. Never thought about going on it before. However, joined in April, and now have linked up with friends from high school and college and I go on there every night! Watch out it is additive!

Hi All!
I, too, am on Facebook a lot, but it doesn't keep me directly from getting involved here. My daily life only has so many free hours and I dose them out on the most pressing needs and closest events. As this cruise gets closer, I'll post more on here. I do check in several times a week and if there is anything I need to respond to I do.
We're 100% on this cruise and can't wait!

I cannot wait until Friday. The new itineraries are exciting! I am looking forward to finally having a Disney ship on the west coast. Welcome Home Wonder!
I know that sailing on the Dream is very tempting, but I hope that you sail with us over the 2010 holidays.

I hope that you are able to save it to a link. I am very interested in the chart of our cruise on Google Earth. Good job:thumbsup2

I agree with you. Since our cruise is sometime away, people do not want to "jump in" and get too attached. We are also 80% certain that we are sailing, but with the economy the way that it is anything can happen. But we are keeping positive!!!!!!!

I am jealous that some of you will be sailing in a few weeks, but I hope that pfishgirl and Dreamsoftravel have fabulous cruises! I cannot wait to hear all about your magical adventures.

Since school started this week, it has been crazy. The heat and the unhealthy air from the SoCal fires just added to the craziness. Raven's first day of high school went well (just frantic schedule changes, which is a total crisis for a freshman).

What about the Wonder's rescue? That was a miracle, but aren't all endings happily ever after ones on a Disney ship?

Looking forward to Labor Day at Disneyland, the announcement of the new itineraries, Confirmation parent meetings, my DH's shift change (Yes, after two years, he will finally have weekends off), the premiere of Dancing with the Stars, my 15th wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday, and our quick trip to Las Vegas.

Talk to you soon.

I can not wait until Friday. Waiting to see how my day goes and if I can find out with everyone else. I have jury duty, so I am hoping that I have to go, but then get dismissed and be home by noon. :cool1:

I am crossing my fingers for Wonder to Alaska! I would not mind sailing on Dream, but since rumor is it's only doing 3 and 4 nights, well, that is not enough of a vacation for me. I think I am heading to LA!!

I have not been on the DIS much recently, so I really didn't know what was going on. I needed to call Disney Cruise Reservations today to swap dates for another cruise we had booked. I had a 20 minute wait before someone answered. While waiting I saw about the announcement for tomorrow. I can't imagine what the wait will be like when folks can book these new cruises.

All the way to school today, I hoped that there would be no discipline problems or concerned parents to deal with at 9:00 A.M. Pixie Dust was on my side. The office was quiet. A middle school office quiet on a Friday, can you believe it?

I watched the live feed. It was entertaining. You have to love Donald Duck. Don't get me wrong. I think Alaska is a beautiful state, a national treasure. Unfortunately, I do not want to visit just yet. I rather experience the Spirit of Aloha. I miss those trade winds.

I am somewhat disappointed. I guess I do not have to worry about starting another vacation fund. And we will have more money to have a grand time in 2010!

I'm with you, while someday I would love to cruise Alaska, right now Hawaii is tops on my list.
Glad to see you'll be staying on our cruise and I love your ticker!
