Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

OMG! Two weeks.....I'm officially panicing.

How will I get it all done? And I'm not talking about packing.....I'm thinking of everything else.

I've given up on lots of stuff. Things that are not happening this Christmas: Christmas cards, outside house decorations, ten foot tree, staircase garland

Anyone else feeling panic'd?

*****breathe***** Gave up tree and decorating, but hacking through cards today. Finishing up FEs :jumping1: and more packing. :rolleyes1

We can do it!

Caryn

I know last Christmas Amazon was on top of things and shipping was FAST.

Goodness the cruise is officially two weeks away! The past month has seemed to fly by! There seems to be so much to do with so little time!

@ Lolobellica Toys R Us had some great deals on the dresses and even some accessories! I sent my husband last night to pick up a couple for our 3 year old and he said most were on sale for half price and then the accessories had a discount too. What sizes were you looking for. Our daughter got the little dress up trunk for her birthday that came with a bunch but has already grown out of them. If you want send me a PM and if they can be any use to you then you are more than welcome to have them. :wizard:

Thak you so much for the offer!! Unfortunately my daughter is going to be 4 on the trip and she's likely in a size S. She's very tall! I just googled that there is a huge Disney store in Orlando, so I guess we'll go there!

Speaking of cold weather, last year we sailed on the Christmas sailing of the Magic and the day of embarkation was brutal in Cocoa Beach! :scared1: It was the 19th of December and the wind was fierce! We were all bundled up in winter clothes and coats! Thankfully once we got down into the Caribbean the weather was perfect...

We were on that cruise as well! I posted pix a while back of us at Sail Away party. We were glad to have our Goofy/Minnie Santa Hats and Mickey gloves to keep us warm! But, yes...perfect once we set sail! :)
Look forward to sailing with you again! :santa:

Finished FEs - all sacked and ready to go in the suitcase - except for four...I realized too late that I ran out of frames, so will have to try and find some in FL. :sad2:

Onto printing photos of gifts and wrapping them in small boxes to put under our mini tree in the cabin...

Panicking - um...YEAH!!! We leave at 1:45am on Thursday morning and I'm supposed to be hosting a birthday party here tomorrow!! I do this to myself every year - but gotta keep slugging through.

On the positive side - printing photos of gifts made me realize that I'd forgotten to order on of DH's! Ooops! That's now been rectified and the photo has been printed to be wrapped!:lovestruc

Not sure if you still have enough time to do this, but I ordered all my princess dresses from Amazon. I got Ariel, Belle, Aurora, Tinker Bell, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Tiana, Snow White, and Rapunzel--total cost was $186, including shipping.

Those 9 outfits, plus a pirate costume and a Christmas formal and my DD5 princess: is covered!

That's an amazing deal!!! We are in Canada and order from Amazon.ca, they don't have the costumes on that site. We do have 2 days in Orlando before the cruise though, so no problem getting something there!

We tried to get a main dining together but no one responded that they were interested. Don't know if we can do it now...:confused3

Essentially, what we have to do is link our ressies. DVC4US is doing the same for late dining. I'll ask her how she's doing it.

The main diners that I know about are:
3PrincessMommy & BigAWL
3PrincessGrandma & Grandpa
TheGales
Three at Sea
mdargen
And there's one more I'll have to check in my PMs...

As for formal attire - I have two floorlength dresses and a semi-formal that will be coming with me. All three girls also have similar styles - so we have one suitcase already packed with only formal gowns!!!! :scared1:

I PM'd you with our information. We would love to sit with everyone during main seating. I hope it works out.

I am doing cards today too. first time I have used Walgreen's photo cards online.....FAST! all I have to do is make address labels. Not sure about a letter this year. I feel kinda lazy not sending one to the relatives at least, but maybe after the New Year would be better! :rolleyes1

I pm'd you too. but don't worry if you don't have time to add us too! I know there's so much to do right now! :santa:

I'll send the message to DCL first thing in the morning my time (middle of the night EST). So if anyone else wants me to include you in the request to sit in the DIS section for main dining, please PM me with your name and reservation number.

Despite a very productive and non-stop day - there is still sooo much to do! :scared1:

OOOOPPPSSSSS! Posted as DH! DO NOT PM DH - it will go into the abyss. He apologizes for not being on the boards recently, but they are moving too quickly for him to keep up lately. PM me to join the main dining group. And PM me if there is something that really needs to be updated on the main page. Will get DH to sit down and fix it. :thumbsup2

Off to bed now so that we can get up at the crack of dawn to continue the packing saga...:sad2:

Oops, I PM'd him before I saw your post...I had already sent you my info by PM as well, so you both have it now...sorry! Please let me know if you didn't receive it?

Off to catch my flight to England now....praying for no snow storms....

We are big supporters of the New Years Greetings concept! There have been many years that we have gone that route....not always b/c of travels at Xmas! :rotfl:

The first Xmas Cruise we went on we got the brainstorm to take cards with us and mail them from Castaway Cay. As would be our style, this brainstorm hit us on the evening before our 4 a.m. wake up to make our flight the next morning! :confused3 We spent that Friday evening frantically writing the holiday letter, printing address labels, double checking that we had current addresses for everyone, and printing everything off. We then sat in Cincinnati (perhaps good that we had delays?) in the gate signing cards, folding letters, stuffing envelopes, and applying address labels. Gave us a good distraction from our stress of the delays, and then all we had to do was carry them with us to CC and buy Bahamian stamps. We were glad we had sent "belated greetings coming in January" postcards ahead of time, b/c they certainly get sent out on "Bahamian Time".....I think it was almost February before they arrived to anyone! :lmao:

Have to get organized! :worship: Wrapping paper all over the dining room. DH is all packed and I haven't even thought about the clothes I am taking let alone started packing. We leave Thursday but are driving so maybe won't have too much problem with suitcases, just golf clubs and extras for the week in Orlando before the cruise. ;) Working on FEs, finishing and labeling. Actually got the cards in the mail this morning along with the last 3 boxes to family and friends. :thumbsup2 Neighbors will have to do without the traditional Christmas candy sacks I have done the last 5 years - just not enough time.:confused3 4 Days!!!:cool1::scared1::woohoo:

You guys sure are a chatty group. I'm gone for 2 days and the thread explodes ...... kaboom :rotfl2:

Travel to FL was completely uneventful this time, other than my being sick as a dog. Hubby spent today at Hollywood Studios; I spent the day in bed, sleeping and trying to get rid of this cold. Tomorrow is Universal and Harry Potter's World of Wizarding, or whatever it's called. Our room at Kidani is beautiful, but far from everything at the AK resort.

Vicki - sorry to hear that you are sick - sending a little pixie dust pixiedust: your way! Hope you feel better tomorrow.

We stayed at Kidani last spring break and loved it but you are right it is a little ways away from everything at AK Lodge.

Got my FEs done today. They are all packed in a suitcase that I am shipping to my Mom & Dad on Monday. They will bring it to the port for me. It ended up being a bigger suitcase than I orginally thought!

Off to finish up my magnets. I am trying to get all this stuff done so I can concentrate on packing.

It's still cold here in Iowa and we got our first snowfall of the season last night. We were suppose to get 3-6 inches but I think we only got about an inch so not too bad.

Feel better, Vicki - hope tommorow goes great at Harry Potter :wizard:

Penny, I can just picture the airport card assembly line!

Hope packing goes easy for everyone, especially those about to get on the road --->

Back from a pirate birthday party for a classmate of DD's. Tired. :surfweb::surfweb:
