Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

It is a 2:09 video of "For the release of “Tangled”, Disney put together a nostalgia bomb of their past 49 animated films, starting from first to last. "

I am fond of the 'Tired Mickey':

The Tired Mickey is adorable. I may have to rethink my design. LOL I'm not ordering my shirt until tomorrow night so I can get the 50% off. Of course, I will wait and for some reason I won't get the discount...that is my kind of luck. :lmao:

Wow, it took me forever to get through all the posts!!! Can someone tell me what hotel CI & S is? We haven't booked a hotel yet, we had planned on staying near the airport, and then I saw all those posts about the shuttle and it got me thinking of an alternate plan!

Is anyone else staying at the Radisson? My mom will be there starting Dec. 15th and we get there on the 16th. It would be great to see some of you there.

This is the first holiday we've (Sean, Agnes, and I) been able to take since 2006 so we fully intend on lounging by the pool the whole day of the 17th. It will feel so great to just sit, swim, and lounge.

I didnt know it was going to last 10 days! :scared1:
I have my t-shirts ordered for the Back of The Pack now :yay: My DS 13 even agreed to wear one which is amazing as 1. He is so fussy, I didnt think he would wear Mickey, 2. He never agrees to join in my group activities being a typical teen and 3.He usually completely refuses to even slightly match his brothers. I think he is looking forward to this as he also agreed to maching colours for boarding and a tie on christmas day!!!!

It's like a little bit of Christmas Magic come early! Enjoy! :santa::lmao:

Okay, I am freaking out a bit. I just figured out our cabins are right beside Ocean Quest on Deck 2.

Has anyone else stayed on Deck 2? Is it loud kids until midnight? I'm really worried about this. I would like to be able to relax in my cabin without the sounds of screaming tweens.

Anyone else stay almost right beside it?:scared1:

Early on, no big deal....by the end of 11 days...there were a number of interesting conversations about who swapped spit with whom....etc. :lmao: DH and I were just a few doors down from the entrance to OQ on our 11 day Med in August. Once in a while we could hear the squeals of joyous tweens racing up and down the hall, but it wasn't all the time, and was never enough to intervene or complain, and we are all about adult time on vaca. So no worries.
Hope that helps? :goodvibes

Think this will have to be my tee....as I really will be the back of the back of the pack!

Whew. Thanks Penny! That makes me feel so much better. Even though we are traveling with a 5 year old Sean and I are definitely looking forward to some quite time in our cabin. I love adult time! I can't wait to hit up the adult pool, beach, and Palo. Wow, that makes me sound like a horrible mom. LOL

NOT a horrible mom at all! If you don't feed your soul as an adult, then you have nothing stored up to contribute to being a good mom the rest of the time! That concludes the "Pearls of Wisdom" portion of my post. :rotfl:

We travel with no kids, and have never felt 'inundated' with shorties around us, much to the surprise of our non-DCL friends. :rotfl: We are always very pleased to see other couples enjoying the "adult" entertainment and relaxation part of DCL.

So I've hijacked page 24, apparently, but it occurs to me I never had time to enter our little "ALL ABOUT US" entry that was taking place a while back. Hopefully you don't mind a late entry? :)

Penny:
I am an early elementary teacher. I've taught 1st and 2nd grade, and am now an "Instructional Support Specialist", which means I oversee and teach interventions for struggling learners in reading and math in our building, primarily in charge of 1st grade. (Our school has 12 sections of 1st grade most years).
I love, love, love to travel, (obviously....:lmao:), read, exercise, boat, and do creative things (scrapbooking, house projects, etc). I should add a "LOL" to the scrapbooking comment, since I DO love to do it, but I get so caught up in the layouts and details, I NEVER finish projects. The goal it to get August's Med cruise into its book BEFORE we take this trip.....not holding my breath....):rotfl:
The "exercise" part is also a new interest for me.....a year ago I suddenly got motivated, became a runner for the first time in my life, and it helped me lose 28 pounds. I've been working hard to keep "most" of it off since then....partially motivated by the fact that my 40th birthday is fast approaching (Dec 14)! Love having the CC5K to help keep me going as the weather gets colder here in Michigan.

DH~Mike:
Runs a family business selling/leasing/servicing golf carts. (He is the 4th generation). Was resistant to the idea of a cruise until he gave up and agreed to us going on a 4 day DCL spring break with his mom/stepdad. Although he spent most of that trip in our stateroom with the FLU (ugh!), he experienced enough of the trip to know he could stand to do a 7 day. We did our first 7 day on our own a year or so later, and now he is HOOKED!!!! Planning and looking forward to our next cruise helps him survive a stressful work life.

We have no children by choice, but lots of nieces & nephew that we love to see as often as possible. We have 2 cats that are enough drama for us, thank you very much. We really cherish our travels together, as it gives us time to be away from "reality" and let Disney pamper us for a few days.

Looking forward to a lovely vaca with you all!

Penny

You are my voice of reason tonight! Not only will be going on a great holiday but we will also be making some great friends!!

Thanks!

I was hoping someone who is familiar with the Orlando area could help me. After seeing some posts about the shuttle launch we are thinking of getting a place in Port Canaveral instead of by the airport.

We fly in around midnight on the 16th, so we would need a hotel for 2 nights. Are there shuttle services that can pick us up at MCO that late and take us to Port Canaveral, or would it be better just to stay the 1st night in a hotel by the airport and get a rental car or shuttle the next day???

I have ordered my shirts for the CC5K now so I cant get in on the new design :sad2: But I still love the old design and my DS13 did agree to wear it so im going with small blessings lol.

Angie dont be terrified we will have such fun. You know your not a big runner and you are doing it anyway be proud of yourself :cheer2: I am more than willing to go with the slowest person or even finish the run then come back and re-finish with whoever is last/struggling. You dont even have to run just practice walking for half hour or so an see how you do.

Michelle, Did you manage to get a list together of our BOTP team yet would love to see how many we have.

Colette

Harry Potter 7 is showing here today and we got tickets for 4:15!!!!!!! YEAH!!!

Want to try the 5K...but worried about timing and fitness. Also wish I could get the t-shirt, but no way to get it here in time.:sad2: Maybe I'll figure it out...

Go on join in! Its better to at least try. At worst you will walk it and have a really good giggle and a DOTD at the end, is that really so bad? Plus you can eat an extra dessert or 2 extra that evening ;)
I cant help you with the t-shirt, im pushing it with the delivery for ours, but maybe someone else can help :confused3.
Hope you enjoy the movie.

Colette

Hooray for HP! If you let me know your size, style, color, and design (!) I can order it with mine and bring it to the ship. I am waiting for the 50% t-shirttime, so hopefully the site wont crash. :thumbsup2
