I'm off to bed now. A little after 4 is going to come early in the morning.

Hurray! our son,Mke, turned in his paper today! It was 37 pages when he was finished! oh my!

So, He'll be driving home from Durham NC tomorrow, just in time to go on the cruise on Saturday!

Let's hope there's no ice between here and there! at least it's warmed up here!

CNN News report about the ICE and SNOW

We ended up leaving late and got caught in this storm. We ended up pulling off the highway for a few hours so the salt trucks could get to the roads. We drove down from Ontario and went through V, WV, NC and they were all a right off. NC had freezing rain and we seen at least a dozen cars that crashed. It was scary - I'm sure we were at 30mph for hours.

The good news is that we made it safe and sound and I'm crawling into bed at the Hyatt Grand Cypress right now. I'm so excited to be here!

There was no school today for DW and DD's, so they did most of their packing today. Tonight, they all went to Justin Bieber. My excuse was that I needed to stay home and pack. It was very loud.

Before the concert, JB's choreographer taught a class at DD14's dance studio. I asked the head of the dance company how he was getting back to the concert venue, and one of the teacher's husband was going to drive. Since I needed to drive DD14 to the concert, I offered to take him. DD14 freaked. We got to hear a few inside stories of their life on the road. They all had a great time.

I think we are 90% packed. Tomorrow we start our drive. Ideally, we leave by 10, but even if we leave at noon, we will be okay.

It's great to hear that everyone is headed this way, and seems to be making it through all the snow, ice, delays, etc. It is warming up in Florida - no jacket needed yesterday, and today might be short-sleeve weather!

Miatamel - glad you are coming!

We enjoyed meeting a fellow cruise family last night - this will be their first DC although they had done a Royal Caribbean before. They didn't know anything about Pirate Night so will be spending today hunting for appropriate attire. Glad I can help enlighten the world.

Only 1/2 day work today for me! Tonight is do-or-die packing time. Not sure if we will be able to break away for the Hyatt meet but will try...

Suitcases are almost packed. We need to drive to DD14's school (which she is skipping her classes) to get her sneakers from her gym locker. She was going to bring them home yesterday, but since no school, we get to make a trip today.

Suitcases getting a little closer to being packed. I am hoping we can get out of here by 11 or 12.

Yes, crazy Disney called me today about the request for another tasting from over a month ago. They gave us the time Dec. 19 from 1-2, I guess so we'd be "happy disers" at the meet. The class sounds fun and it books fast on board. We still need 8 more people to make the group. Please PM me with the name and cabin #. It is 15.00 and you will get charged even if you cannot make it.

I was startled when they called, hoping it was a miraculous upgrade, hence I forgot the location. I will post details ofcourse when we make our numbers.

Extending your time until 7:am central to sign up. It looks like I'll be up for hours packing and thinking of those drinks.

I think I have managed to get everything from out from under all the beds and drawers, etc. We always forget something in a hotel room! Suitcases are all repacked and waiting for the girls to get back from Grandma & Grandpa's sleepover so we can head over to Epcot for lunch. One more load of laundry in the dryer and we'll head out! Yeah!

We have packed up all the cold weather gear to mail up to VA for after the cruise - will stop by the UPS store on the way to the CI&S this afternoon.

Just boarded the plane for Orlando! Yay! There was a family in line that is also headed for the same cruise...I wonder whether they were DIS'ers as well!? Super nice people and said the Disney cruise is just awesome, they are DCL vets

I hope your daughter feels better and that it is just a temporary thing. Does she have a fever or is it just her stomach?

Just finished the last few items for work. Oldest DD got home from school about an hour ago with one small suitcase and a backpack. She says she likes to travel light and has everything she needs. Somehow I think this is going to cost me money at the different ports.

Everyone is just about packed except for me. I guess I should actually go into the closet and put some clothes in a suitcase.

No idea what to do...

Keeping fingers crossed that it is just a short term stomach ache (something she ate?) and it will clear in a few hours. That would not be contagious. You mentioned (I think) she was eating tons of sweets at Mickey's Christmas party. That would send my kids into stomach-ache mode. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Got everything washed and turned around from the previous cruise... It is now packed up (packing wears me out!) and ready to go... We have obviously overpacked I really do not know how large families handle it...

To all of those who are struggling with the kids getting sick.... we are sending pixie dust your way
