Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Well, here is what a BBQMommy sort of looks like. This was on my 41st birthday in February. I have since opted for a different, more natural hair color ... :rolleyes1

DD5 had an absolute blast that morning at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique princess:

:lovestrucThanks for the welcome

The first baltic cruise was really good. there were some exras like journals for the kids to fill in and a memorative plate. On previous christmas cruises we were given a special lithograph too. I love all the extras!

We are undecided on whether to do Harry Potter or MVMCP.
We have done MVMCP before but not seen Harry Potter yet. My oldest 2 would prefer Harry Potter but my 3 year old would prefer Disney, however we have 11 nights of Disney. Oh the hard decisions one must make :rotfl:

So guess what I was up doing at 3:55 AM this morning?! Booking a candlelight processional dinner package for our pre-stay at WDW! The good news is that I got Le Cellier, as desired. The bad news is that my poor kiddos might be dealing with a tired, grumpy mommy come dinnertime tonight. :rolleyes1

Love that you posted a pic, BBQMommy. It's nice to put a face with the, um, name? ;) Now I just need to make a cheat sheet with everyone's Dis name/real life name.

I'm Darcie, btw. And if I could figure out how to make my picture not take up the entire screen I'd post one!

PS. Welcome Colette, glad you'll be joining us!

That sounds like a great pre-cruise stay - so glad you got the ressie at Le Cellier. :thumbsup2

BBQMommy has been known to answer to Caryn.:flower3:

Just got back from parents' open house night as the first week of school is wrapping up. Always good to see the teachers and tell them not to put up with anything from our girls. But I couldn't figure out how I came home with homework to do.:confused3

Wow, so much happening on this thread now. Great!

I can't believe some of you repeat cruisers have not tried Palo yet. We love it for both brunch and dinner. And it's a great excuse to get away from the kids. I'd say brunch is the highlight, though, so if you only wanted to try it once.... You'll just need to book it early, since it's only on sea days.

We prefer early seating, so that's where we'll be. We like to get the kids fed, and then give them the option of going to the show or to the club/lab before bedtime.

Colette, welcome! And hello from a fellow inaugural Baltic cruiser. We were on that cruise, too. Awesome time. Gorgeous weather. Beautiful cities. I highly recommend it to all of you the next time they send the Magic there. I'm not sure we ran into each other, though. Or is my mind going? You may have met my wife, Joann (3princessMommy), who was at the cruise meet/secret mickey reveal. Or you may remember the family from Uganda. That's us.

We're staying at WDW for 8 nights prior to the cruise in our first DVC stay (SSR), and doing MVMCP on Dec 12. I also got the CP dinner package reserved this morning for Dec 14 at Teppan Edo (first time eating there). I couldn't get though on the regular line at all for two hours. Then remembered that DVC member services can do ADRs for us, so I called them. Only on hold for 5 minutes, and got the time and place I wanted. I could really get used to this DVC thing.

Our girls (and their mom) have become big Harry Potter fans this summer, but I don't think we're ready for the Wizarding World yet. My girls would only ride one of the three rides, and from what I hear, the crowds are still insane every day. So we're going to hold off on that for a while. I'm trying to not let them know that it exists.

Ok, I think I'm caught up now. Talk later.

Hi Joann, (I'm trying to learn names so correct me if this is wrong)

I agree with you about Sessions and coming up with a different area. I can check with concierge and see if there is another area we can reserve.

Concierge did say we can reserve Sessions if we decide to do that for an adult only meet. It doesn't cost anything to reserve the room but if we had drinks or food it would cost for those items.

I would love to do a group brunch. Like I said before, I have 7 adults in my group alone so let me check to see if all of those are interested and I will see if I can book the private dinning room in Palo then I will get back to you.

The ideal would be for DCL to have the bar open so folks could buy their own drinks. Do you think they'd do that? I don't want to pay for a group thing, but if it was a KTWC bar....

I think they probably will do this but I will check. I have not had the chance to e-mail concierge yet so I will send that out tonight. I will try to find out what locations are available for us to reserve and if it has a bar can it just be open for those who want to use it. Do we know how many people we might have there?

Yay for more pictures! And what a good looking bunch!

And... now I don't feel so bad posting my full screen pictures! Thanks Mike! ;)

:yay:My family will also be joining you for the cruise! :yay:

We have actually booked both the 11 day Christmas Cruise & 5 day New Year Cruise! I am so excited I could burst. We did the New Year Cruise last year & loved it!

:ssst: At this moment our children do not know about the trip. We are still trying to figure out how we are going to tell them... that we are not going to Grandma and Papa's this year for Christmas... we are going on a cruise. My DD (10) is going to be very sad :sad1: or very mad . I am hoping that someday she will forgive us ;), for taking her on a cruise for the holidays.

My Family is:
Me--Disneycruising
DH--
DD--17
DS--15
DS--12
DD--11 (her birthday is a few days before the trip)
Cabins-- 2 cat 12 GTY

Are there any scuba divers going???? My DH, DS15, DS12 and DD11 just got certified this summer and they want to do some diving. Since the disney excursions are limited to ages 12+ they are looking at private options. Anyone else interested?

Hi, My husband will be diving at atleast two of the stops. I just officially booked so I have not planned much yet. I will let you know in about a month the dive days he will be doing.

I'm feeling pretty proud of myself because after wasting too much of my time experimenting on Photobucket this morning, I finally figured out how to share photos that aren't big enough to show off every blemish on my face! :yay: Here we are:

DH {Jeff} and me {Darcie}

Happy birthday!!! Did you figure out what to do about APs and room deals and free dining? Will you be at WDW before or after the cruise?

Ok, so I can guess what 1969 means. But what about HFC?

Birthdays {even 41st birthdays} are better than the alternative. So I say live it up! Enjoy your celebration Mike!

Hey Caryn - it is a lot of fun helping people plan their trips, isn't it? Especially first timers. Have you considered applying for the Disney World Moms Panel? Applications are being accepted starting on Sept. 13th!!! I can vouch for it being one of the best gigs ever! Just food for thought...

AP... yeah we are going to buy ours the last day of our Halloween trip... which means we will be driving 90mph :scared1:to get to WDW the Dec 17..

I think the good Dr. is looking at a long weekend in Feb when the kids are off school. Amazingly enough its not Pres Day so maybe crowds will be smaller..:confused3

HFC 1969 The street we live on abbreviated.. ;) and of course the year I was born.. :headache: BTW... my beautiful wife will point out she wasn't born until much later in the 70's :flower3:
