Magic Bands

Figured I'd use a prior thread then start a new one. If you order a Magic Band now on the MDE site for a November trip do they ship them before arriving like before or you just get them at check in?

I paid for some for a trip at the end of October, with plenty of time, and it didn't even give me the option to have them shipped. It said I have to pick them up.

I just got some for a trip at Halloween and they shipped them.

I got mine a little over a week after ordering them on MDE for my trip this month.

As others have said, your old MBs should work for all but long distance ride photos. Just go to the Magic Bands and Cards list in your MDE and make sure the ones you’re bringing are still listed as Active. If not, just click to re-activate them.

Is this all you have to do? I have 4 bands in my lap right now that I’m trying to link but when I go online, it shows ALL of the magic bands ever used per person in our party with the ones used most recently as the most active. Is that it? I just bring those, throw them on our wrists and we are good to go?

Believe it or not, YES! As long as they're Active in MDE, they're good, for the tap functions (park entry, unlocking room door, etc.) at least. They'll link ride photos until they're over 2 years old but there's no way to test the long-range battery, so I make sure at least one of us has a newer MB each day.
