Magic bands ????

Probably has been asked one hundred times before but I can"t locate it. We had magic bands on our Oct 2013 trip. Went online to check and it is asking us to customize new magic bands. Our old ones still show active. Do we use the old ones or are we supposed to get new ones for each future trip? Going in March so we have a little time left to customize. BTW I really liked the magic bands on our last trip----7 people for a week with really no issues. When they didn't work at the FP+ they just let us on the rides. That was our only issue.

You will get new ones for each reservation. All MagicBands assigned to an individual have access to the same benefits and entitlements, so you can use them all interchangeably.

Yup...I can confirm this. We just returned from our most recent stay. I now have all 7 colors of MBs and all worked flawlessly during our entire trip.

One note...you must scan each on your door lock when you arrive to activate it as a door key. Other than that your bands will work interchangeably for park access, FP+ redemption, Photopass/Memory Maker, etc.

Oh, and just an FYI...the door locks can accommodate a maximum of 36 MBs. That won't cause an issue for most stays, but we had 10 people staying in an OKW Grand Villa. Each of us scanned only 3 of our bands during that part of our trip. Our other bands still worked for everything else, but those three bands (per person) were the only ones that worked as room keys.

Yep I can confirm this too. As long as the bands show as activated in my MDE then they will work. We had 3 sets of bands in dec and all worked at each of our resorts. And yes until the my magic+ is fully rolled out you will get a new band for each ressie. If u don't customize one you will get the gray one at check in but again you don't need to use as long as your other bands from previous trips are still active.

We've received a new set each time as well. Haven't heard anything about scanning them on arrival at the door lock, except to unlock the door. Wife wears a different one each day, they all worked on the door lock on whatever day she entered. Got every color but Grey!
