I just got some pixie dust!!!!! I was able to book a one night stay at the Pop Century the night before we arrive at Fort Wilderness. This enabled me to get Magic Bands for my entire trip..... We had planned on coming down and staying somewhere on the trip down, but now we will just stay on property an extra night and the dogs will get to stay a night at Best Friends.

I thought the bands were only good for the days/nights you are registered. If so, would that make your PC bands only good for one day? As I understand it, they are not used at the Fort, so what good would they be.

Signed: Confused. :confused3

The Fort isn't on magic bands yet, but if you do a split stay, I've heard you'll still be able to use Fast Pass+ for the parks as well as park entry and cardless payment.

It looks like a lot of folks are switching a day or so of current reservations to a Magic Band testing resort to enable FP+ for the entire vacation stay.

That is what we did. I added a day to the beginning of our trip, and added the park tickets for the entire trip to that stay. I have been able to do fast passes, and will be able to use it all week in the parks.

Very sad that us campers will be left out of the magic bands. I already told my kids about it and they will have to walk around watching virtually everyone else with them on our visit. Once again Disney is not being fair.

Where did this info come from? The Fort will be getting them - they just don't have them yet.

Yup, the Fort will eventually be on Magic Bands along with every other on-site resort. There are still a decent amount of resorts that have not been added to the Magic Band testing yet including the Floridian and Wilderness Lodge. My guess is that FW will go live at the same time as WL. I figure the earliest that will happen is November/December.

We are going in October, and driving back down on January 1st. during a phone call to DIsney, i was told last week that the Magic Bands will be in place for our January visit, but, as you noted, not yet this fall. I like the idea of an early arrival, and getting the bands if you stay at a resort that has them.

Strangely enough, I just found out that Magic Bands went live for FW overnight, alteast for late October on.

I'm arriving 10/23, and I was able to customize my bands this morning, and also make FP+ reservations. I called WDW reservations, and they said the plan is to launch Magic Bands for all resorts by 11/1

It hasn't gone live for November checkins yet.

checking in on 10/19/13 and haven't had magic bands or fp+ open to me yet

You may want to check your online Disney account. I checked with someone arriving at the Fort on 10/17, and the magic bands were opened to them today as well.

EDIT: The 10/17 check-in is for WILDERNESS LODGE

OK, I have a super stupid question that I feel comfortable enough here among my camping buddies to ask...but these things are waterproof, right? I'd imagine that they're meant to be worn while swimming, at the waterparks, etc. I believe the chips inside are all passive and there's probably nothing to get wet anyway, but just thought I'd throw this nagging question out there.

KristinU: You aren't the first one to answer, and it's one that had crossed my mind too! Yes, they're good to go. I've read Live TRs of people that have used them swimming, showering, everything, and they're fine.

We check in 10/19 and don't have it listed either.. even tried to 'modify' our online check-in, and still only the 'manage magic bands' instead of 'customize' them. Brocktoon: the person you checked with, are they camping or cabins? Not sure if they'd split the two up, but I'm curious now.

I have modified check in, logged in, signed out, logged in, even checked the mobile app. no dice.

My apologies ... just checked back, and they are staying at Wilderness Lodge on 10/17. Yes, they didn't know the diffrence between WL and FW :confused3

So, do you think think the FW cutoff is a 10/20 check-in? It doesn't look like November is live yet. So, it may just be folks checking in between 10/20 and 10/31 for now?

We check into the cabins on Oct 31st and as of today we can customize our MB and make FP+. Hopefully that is good news for everyone at FW!!

I just saw someone on another thread checking in the 21st, can customize... :confused3 No love for the earlier check-ins, maybe..
