Anyone staying at the August resorts have any experience with a split stay moving to a resort that isn't testing? Do you get to use them the duration of the trip even after switching resorts?

i'm not staying in aug, but in sept with POR split stay with POFQ and was told by someone involved in the testing that the current "parameters are set within the test resort" and the magicband will not work past midnight of the day of check out. She did say that they could always change the testing parameters so who knows.

Very interesting in hearing any details on this as well. We check into Pop for 2 nights starting 8/31 & we have the bands. We then check into CSR or 5 nights and was wondering if the bands will still be able to be used???

A friend of mine who works at CSR says that if you get the bands from one resort they can activate them at another resort..or at least hers! She said if you have 2 DDPs then it will use up the old one first which will expire the day you check out of the first resort!

Yes once you activate them you can use them anywhere in the future.

I understand that there is a potential option to reuse them, but I was told something different for the testing period. I would love it to be able to continue using my mb from POR when we switch resorts to POFQ.

Conspiracy theory here regarding magic band testing (this is the rumor board, after all.) During testing, it appears that more of the deluxes are getting opportunities to use this, and also because it is still "testing", they are also giving kttw cards, which gives option to use kttw cards for regular fp, so can "double dip:" So in other words, via testing, they are able to exactly what they were rumored to be contemplating, but with literally no scrutiny/criticism - ie, give extra benefits to wdw guests, and in particular, to deluxe guests. I will go back to re-adjusting my foil hat now.

We are staying at WL not part of testing so we will be using regular fast passes. So since they can double dip we are still going to have issues getting fast passes for the popular rides. Not right

See, and that is sort of my point (but not to get too far into tnis half-joking theory)- if the resort allocation is part of a test, u are just mildly annoyed, but if part of official system, would be much more upset. I guess we will see if there is 5 years of testing, although with disney IT, would not be impossible.

Double dipping was confirmed. Now we have to deal with higher priced resorts being given more benefits? Who woulda thot?!

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and I initially heard that our entire resort was in the test, but my travel agent (AAA) tells me you only get to be in the test if you receive an invite. Can anyone confirm or deny this please? We were hoping to be in the test.

Love the conspiracy theories, guys.

The so-called "double dipping" by testers is just that they get three FP+ on top of regular FP.

Many others can double dip right now too. If your ticket media is separate from your KTTW card, you can double dip - and it doesn't require being at a MB/FP+ testing resort. KTTW cards are able to get FPs due to a side effect of them enabling their use for guests with MagicBands. In fact, some old KTTW cards can also get FPs.

And for the August tests, the resorts were AKL (not villas), CR, YC - and POP. POP I believe has more rooms than those three combined. So hardly something exclusive to the deluxes.

Sept/Oct tests adds AoA, POR, and BC/BCV (and maybe Poly).

I don't understand the conspiracy theory!! lol! can someone explain it to me, slowly?! please

Let me see if I can assist... Several theories have been mentioned.

One, the deluxe resorts are getting more/better advantages than other resorts. I'm not sure that is true as the WL is a deluxe resort and has not yet received the MB or FP+, and eventually ALL DW Resorts will be getting the MB and FP+.

Two, those resorts which currently are giving their guests the MB (and use of FP+) are also providing the old resort room key (KTTW) in case the MB encounters issues. By doing this, the guest is able to reserve FP+ tickets with the MB and/or MDE, as well as collect the traditional FP by using the KTTW in the machines. I believe there are other reservation advantages as well, but I haven't paid very close attention to those as the F&W events we are interested in are not part of the special reservation options.:confused3 I can wait to eat at BOG when it is less crowded.

However it goes, I'm really hoping WL is part of the test, or full roll out, by November 1 when we arrive! I want to play with them too! :rotfl:

Definitely not true. POP is currently testing accounting for about half of all possible testers, and that is a value resort. AoA, also a Value resort, starts next week, and Port Orleans Riverside becomes the first Moderate to test next week.

So there is no "scaling" of benefits with regards to deluxe guests going on. They are all getting the exact same thing.

There is a completely independent test of BOG "FP+" from the existing FP+ test. There are other threads on that.

The fact that the KTTW card can get Fastpasses is true. Testers have been told (well, most of them, some have been told different things) they can utilize the existing Fastpass system in addition to the FP+ system during the test.

However, to make this work, they basically enabled (almost*) ALL KTTW cards, regardless of whether they have a ticket entitlement on them or have been used for park entry or are expired, to get Fastpasses. Even those not staying at a testing resort, who may have their admission media separate from the KTTW cards, can get Fastpasses with the KTTW cards independently from their admission media. So they can essentially get twice as many Fastpasses as normal. Not many know this though, and it could change at any time. It is still believed that the regular Fastpass system will go away eventually.

The whole conspiracy theory was mostly me joking (as I thought I said), but the fact is, disney can (if it chooses) keep this in testing phase and likely receive much less scrutiny than a similar allocation of the program if it was in "regular" mode.
