Magic Bands while staying off Disney property

I am going with a large group and would like to link our magic bands to a credit card but we are staying off Disney property. I know on the Disney website you can enter card info for booking reservations but can that also be linked to the Magic bands once we get there?

Off-site guests cannot link credit cards to MDE. For onsite guests, their credit cards are attached to their room reservation account in MDE. All purchases are posted to their room account and then billed to their credit card.
