Magic bands, RFID, Fastpass +???

We have a trip scheduled for September with a DVC reservation for two rooms. We will be traveling with a family who has not been to Disney. I am trying to handle all of the arrangements for the group, but have never used the "new stuff" myself. Can someone help me to understand the whole magic band thing? Specifically, can I get tickets from somewhere like UT and link them to the band? If you have a magic band, do you still get a room card at check in? All this "linking" is making me crazy. Also, has anyone linked a prepaid card instead of a credit card for spending? I would like to do this for my daughter if it is possible.
At this point, I am not even thinking about the fastpass + part - other than to ask, if all of my people are in my friends and family list on "My Disney Experience" - can I make the arrangements for them?

Yes, Undercover Tourist tickets (or tickets from any AUTHORIZED broker) can be linked to MDE.

You will not be issued an RFID room key/card at check in, but you can supposedly ask for one. It might make sense to have it for backup, just in case. (Or if you're like me and started collecting your room keys before they went to Magic Bands.)

You should not have an issue using a pre-paid card or a gift card on your account, provided it has enough room for whatever the amount of the authorization hold might be. My wife and I attach a credit card, but we always put money into our room account as soon as we check in. We don't like surprises. :)

Yes, add everyone taking the trip with you to MDE, and then you can make FP+ and Dining Reservations for everyone. Remember, though, that dining reservations now require a credit card, and if you cancel in under 24 hours, they'll charge you $10. With a group, you may only want to make reservations for places you KNOW you'll want to dine at. If the group gets fickle, it may cost you some money to change.

With the search option down, I couldn't really look into any of this, -Mousewerks, I appreciate the link to the other thread.
