FCDub - if that were up to me, you betcha!
However, at the risk of stepping into something, there are 4 females in our group and only 3 "feminine" colors and I expect they will all want pink or purple.
Let me emphasize the title of my thread:
Magic Bands - really trivial (probably lame) question.
Because, well - it's really a trivial and probably lame question.
Again, I appreciate the constructive suggestions. (Thanks for the link, AnnMichele!)
Er, actually quite a few 'females' on these boards have reported having 3 or more colors of bands (to match with assorted outfits), and er, the 'females' in our family actually don't choose pink or purple. (FYI we don't match outfits either. Mostly, we only minimally discussed it at all. It kind of went like this, "You're getting red, okay?" "Um, okay."
Personally, If they didn't come with our hotel stays, I wouldn't have bothered buying them. I'd just use my park tickets the same as we did for many years before the bands came along.
Otherwise, your concern is probably a bit misplaced.
1. Some of the adults will likely prefer NOT having to wear a band, especially if they have to buy it- which would solve your problem right there. Truly, I've been to WDW with and without bands many times. Truly, if you can't use it as your room key, then there's REALLY not much point in buying them. I mean if the kids want one, okay, but the adults will be just fine without them, perhaps even better. You CAN put your tickets in a lanyard. That's the norm at Universal, and it works VERY WELL! Otherwise you can just keep it in your wallet.
2. The only way the bands are of almost any use at all, is if you KEEP them ON. You put them on in the airport- before you get to ME (or while driving if are not using ME), and then you keep it on until you get back to the airport.
3. Unless you have someone who really doesn't like wearing the band...in which case, you'd be better off NOT buying a band for that person, but if you do end up getting one for everyone anyhow...most of you won't be taking the bands off once you put them on.
4. In which case, a sharpie works fine to personalize them.
Actually, I always carry a mini-sharpie at WDW. While I wouldn't worry about the bands, you WILL want to personalize your refillable mugs! And maybe a few other items along the way. Sharpie is also great if you plan to use gift cards. It is easy to mark the balance o the card.
