Magic Bands - really trivial (probably lame) question

We will have 7 people in our group; one is a child who will likely get a "character" Magic Band.

The other 6 will likely get one of the basic ones. Two males, four females.

Now - it's possible we'll not find 6 distinct colors that people will want. For example, two of the women might want the same color - maybe purple.

Is there an easy way (beyond purchasing any of the added decorations) to tell the two purple bands part? Can you write on the inside or something?

Didn't add the fact that we have to purchase these separately - we're staying at the Dolphin.

Well, certainly you can write on them. It won't damage them in any way. For the kids, sometimes, if they are too large, you can tear off the outer grey part, leaving just the smaller, colored band. Also, consider with the new bands, you can change the "puck" in the middle, so maybe if people want to trade bands (the puck is what has all the electronics in it and is linked to each individual), so you could create unique color mixes. A tiny screwdriver is needed to make this change. If anyone in the party wants to buy a Magic Keeper in lieu of the band, they come with a tool for that.

You can always mix and match the bands with the pucks (they are interchangeable). That can make additional color combinations possible. For example, person A could have all pink bands, person B can have pink-puck-purple band and person C pink-band-purple-puck (from 2 pinks and 1 purple), etc etc.

Just put a sticker on it. You can put it on the inside if you don't want it to show

If you have to purchase bands then I would just get a band with a design on it. I wouldn't spend money on just a solid color band unless it was the black or millennial pink one that you can't get for free

Good point. There are two pinks and both are $12.99 (pink and millennial pink) and also black if you buy them. So more color choices for buying them... or OP could "splurge" and buy the $23 character ones.

You could mark them with a sharpie or you can tell them apart by their unique code printed on the underside of the puck that you use to link them to your account.
Or just buy a slider/bandit/magickeeper
Also as long as you're not just tossing them all together at the end of the day it should be easy enough to know where each person is keeping their band when not on.

Your band is personalized with your name on the inside. It's pretty small, but it's not difficult to read. And people aren't likely to get them mixed up because they are wearing them most of the time. When you take it off in your room, you'll know where you put yours versus where Grandma put hers.

My 2 dd's and my niece all wanted the new millennium pink so I got them as gifts, then when I linked I marked the inside with their first initial in sharpie. After that they just all held on to their own bands anyway.

Use a sharpie on the 2 that are the same.
We often get skins from ETSY to customize the bands. They are cheap and you can find just about any design you want.

Only personalized if you are staying at a Disney owned hotel and it’s the Magic Band which is included with your hotel resie - not if staying at Swan or Dolphin, or if you purchased the Magic Band.

I didn't know this (about Swan and Dolphin). I was going to suggest getting it personalized, too. We have always stayed on site so I guess I didn't even think about the names only being personalized for on site guests.

Wow - so many great suggestions, especially Etsy!

Thank you, fellow Disney fans!
