Magic Bands question

I'm getting confused with all my Magic Band options. My family was at WDW in January and have bands from that trip. Our APs are linked to those bands. My DH would like to get the AP bands because he wants the slider thing with the year on it. We also have 2 reservations for June (crosses two different promotion periods so 2 back-to-back reservations to handle that). It sounds like Disney is planning to send us 2 sets of bands for those reservations!

How do all these different versions work? Will they all link to the same person and be interchangeable & we could use any of them (would at least let us have color choices!) Or, do we need to somehow let Disney know which set we are actually going to use and get everything linked to that? Or do we need to use the 2 different resort stay versions and get our AP's "moved" onto each of those at check in?

DS14 is also concerned if this is going to impact his Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom game. When he first started it, we were on the last days of our previous APs. We then went nearly a year w/o APs before getting our current ones. The first time we went to the MK with the new APs, he had to start a new game and return to the 1st level. They said it was linked to the old AP and couldn't be moved to the new one. He has now played the current one on 2 trips and has this last trip in June before these AP's expire. He is resigned to losing his game after June, but he wants to be able to play his current version for this trip. Since the APs are now linked to our January Magic Bands, is his game also tied to that band? Can it be moved to a different band as long as he is using the same AP?

If there is already a thread that deals with all this, please just point me in the right direction!

Great question. Same thing happened to me so I called Disney and was told the magic bands are automatically issued (either beforehand where you can customize or issued at checkin) for resort reservations no matter if you have any other magic band. You simply use whichever one is active. You can deactivate any band you want on the app. It's not very efficient but I guess there are bugs to work out still.

All your MagicBands and cards can be used interchangeably as long as they’re active.

You can use any band assigned to you, on any stay, as long as you have not deactivated it in MDX.

Just an aside, I wasn't sent an AP slider. Just the band and the discount/parking card.

Did you check inside of the piece that holds the MagicBands. That's were I found one of our Sliders.
