Magic Bands & multiple credit cards.

From few threads I found it seems like lots of problems different credit cards linked to bands if you are sharing rooms. We are staying in OKW. One sister has a studio on a separate rezzie # so dont think it will be an issue for her. In the 2 bedroom we have 4 adults who would like to use 3 seperate CC(me, mom, sister & bil)


Would it be possible & easier to just use our own credit cards when making payment at meals or stores our do we have to link our credit cards to our bands?

You don't have to link your cc to the account. Is it easier? I think so.

Nothing is linked to your actual band, it's linked to the MDE account.

Theoretically, if each of you has your own MDE account with a cc linked, it should read that card when the band is scanned. I think that would be the easiest way cc wise. Reservation wise, it makes it more complicated when multiple people have separate accounts. But it's doable. You just run into more potential for user error problems.

Are you sure? On the MDE site, the text says that your credit card is for "Online Purchases" and has a section entitled "On-Property Purchases" that says you can charge on-property purchases to your hotel account.

If you are asking if each band can be linked to a different card they should be able to do this. I went with a friend last spring under the same reservation. We were able to link our individual cc to our own kttw card when we checked in. I'd assume that the same would be true for the magic bands.

It can be done, have it done at the front desk of the resort. Not saying it cant be done online via different accounts with each band, but IMO just have them do it at the front desk.

Tried it once. They promised at the front desk that they could do it. When we received the bill, it had been itemized as to who made which charge via their magic bands...but it had all been charged to the same credit card.

Even though we gave 2 cards at the desk and had 2 PIN numbers set up, everything was charged to one card.

There was NO problem with this when it was just KTTW cards, before the MDX and Magic Bands. Now, it seems to be a crapshoot as to whether it gets done properly.

If you try, then make sure you have the bill run at least once before you leave, to save an unpleasant surprise at check-out. Especially since there was only me and my friend, but you've got 3 different parties in one villa.
