Magic Bands, Linked NE Tix, and Non-Linked Tix

Sorry if this has been covered, but I'm just still not sure about all this technical stuff. :worried:

So my DH and I both have 4 days left on a NE ticket linked to MDE/our MBs. We also each have a regular 5 day pass (14 day exp) not linked that we would like to use - not the 4 NE days. OK, now I know we can just add the 5 day to MDE and have them prioritize the tix at guest relations, but I'm worried they'll mess it up. :scared: We will be staying on property, so we will have the 60 day FP window. So my question is this:

Can I make 4 days worth of fast passes - against my 4 NE days, BUT use my 5 day tix for admission? Or do fast passes need to be linked to the same tix as admission? Does that make sense?
So get thru the gates with a non-linked 5 day reg pass, but use MB/MDE for Fast Passes linked to the 4 day NE pass? I'd like to preserve those precious NE days.:smooth:
Thanks!

I had similar concerns. I created another mde account and linked the non expiring tickets to the new account. Booked fast passes on the new non expiring account and just used the ticket cards at park entrance and fast pass checks and used the magic band for room entry and extra magic hour verification.

Ok, so if I create the new MDE account and add the new 5 day pass, I can link my current ressie to it? And then get the 60 day booking window?

It doesn't have to be an entire new account. Just create two phantom people in your existing account, and link the NE tickets to them. Then do everything for the current trip using the "real" people.

With phantom people in the account, does it matter if it's still attached to them when you use the tickets?

Yes, it matters. Tickets are locked to the profile once they're used.

Has anyone reported problems with prioritized tickets? I don't recall seeing any here. I have a similar issue to the OP, and really don't want to try to create new MDE or phantom people.

I was also thinking of not linking my new ticket, since I have enough non-expiring days to book all my FP. I know from experience that FP do not need to be attached to a ticket used for entry that day, as I took my DHs band with me into a park and used his when he was feeling poorly and stayed back at the resort.

I've seen a few reports of tickets not being prioritized correctly, but I think the bigger problem is when people don't realize that they need to stop at the ticket booth to have the tickets prioritized. I had no problem when I had 10-day NE ticket and purchased an annual pass. The phantom profile, in my opinion, just saves you a trip to the ticket booth each time you want to use a different ticket.

Ok, good to know. I think it would be too confusing for me to use phantom people, I would keep getting things messed up. I'd much sooner make a second MDE account and link any potentially conflicting tickets to that one instead

I attempted to add phantom people, but in order to get the 60 day jump on FP+ they need to be linked to the ressie. Which won't work, the new person cannot be matched to it - unless I'm doing something wrong.
Sigh, I don't know that creating a second MDE account would work for us either - it would still come back to having to match the ressie. :confused3
Fortunately, I am planning on hitting guest services first thing when we get there (for our TIW card). I may just have to go the priority route and hope they don't mess it up. Next time if we are in the same boat, I'll just add a phantom person to the ressie straight off.
