Magic Bands info for the new test dates in August

While I have still not officially been invited to take part in the August test, I just received my magic bands via UPS. I'm staying at Yacht Club 8/30-9/1. I've already made FP+ ressies and linked my AP to my reservation. Still having some issues with my wife's ticket, but I'm hoping I can fix this when we arrive.

Got my invitation to test the new system yesterday.
Had ordered our magic bands already, so they arrived today.

I do not have a package, but have two MYW tickets for DS and DH and AP's (or will call confirmations for AP's) for DD and myself.

I have linked our AP's to our reservation, and was able to make FP+ for myself for one day-just experimenting at this point.

I cannot link the 7 day MYW tickets to my account. They were bought at AAA and I even stopped by AAA to ask them about how to link them. Of course they didn't even know what I was talking about, but they did contact WDW for me. They were told I would need to call WDW, and they gave me the same phone number that is on my testing invitation.

So, I have been calling the phone number given, all day, and always get a "circuits are busy" recording. So, I agree with Verlee, who is spending more time planning their vacation than planning their wedding. I'm thinking I need to step away from this vacation, opt-out of the testing when I check-in, and just tour the old-fashioned way.

We received the e-mail invitation to participate in the Aug test today (we are 17 days out). I'd already selected and received our Magic Bands though and made our FP+ selections.

I must say the whole family enjoyed logging on and making the FP+ selections. It made the trip feel that much closer.

I've read that there are many folks opting out of the test. I actually called when I was prompted to customize our Magic Bands in MDE a few weeks ago because I hadn't received an invitation in e-mail. I asked about opting out and was told that I could opt out any particular day I wanted or all days if I wish. I was assured that I could use regular FP on any days I didn't want to use FP+. I really hope this is the case as I am planning opting out on a couple of days when we're park hopping. Have others been told otherwise about the test?

We are 17 days out today too. We are staying at Pop. I didn't get an email.

Is there anyone else out there 17 days or less at one of the test resorts that did not receive an email invitation?????

I didn't get innovation e-mail and we are 17 days out as well. But I got an e-mail on July 20 that my MB shipped to my resort. I live in Canada. My MB are active on the MDE site as well. Maybe we will get the e-mails later or maybe we will have to wait and see when we arrive at POP. No worries either way. Happy thoughts.

Yes, I remember when you got that email. But I never got that email either. For almost two weeks my magicbands have been listed as shipping soon. Oh well. You probably remember that I've been told twice that Canadians are not eligible for this test. On my third call, I was told they were, so I'm not calling back again. I'm just going to accept what they told me on the final call.

Got my bands today. Wow, i just ordered them like yesterday or the day before.......

I'm more confused than ever everas to if we can get regular FPs if we dont do any FP+ that day. And are shows included in the 3 per day limit? I just dont understand how ANYONE can possibly think 3 FPs a day are enough. Fine if we'll still be able to pull regular FPs in addition to the Pluses, but if not.........just....'NO. We use at least 5-6 at MK

Finally, I assume we Will still be doing the finger scan with these bands?

got my invitation today via email and over night letter...I had to call WDW as we arrive 8/18 but will be coming from a seven day Disney Cruise which we leave for on 8/9...told them if they mail them i have to have them by 8/8 or leave them at the CR for us...

lady was very nice and said she would send an immediate note...

we will now luckily get to ride Soarin and wont have to wait 45 minutes for Toy Story Mania....

With all of the issues with MDE website, I have to say that I am impressed that they managed to send both our e-mail and package invitation to arrive today on our 17th day (like everyone else..). Of course thanks to the DIS, we already have our customized bands

We arrive 8/17 at pop and got the letter and the email on Wednesday. We also arrive back at pop on 8/22 and I have yet to get anything but our MB for that stay. I assume it will be here on day 17.

No, just for 7 days of FP+ but once you use the first day, you can add on the 8th day.

If you have trouble linking it through the link tickets spot, go into your profile and click that you are an AP holder and link through there. That was how I had to link my tickets when IT couldn't figure it out.

Hey I will be on the same cruise! My reservation is weird like that. BUt we are staying at pop for 1 night we have 4 magic bands for that. Then again on the 22nd we are back at pop with 4 new magic bands. But we're WL isn't a test resort not sure how that will work.

Awesome! That's funny that you are getting two set of magic bands! Couldn't they just link to the first set? I'm curious about how mine will work since we have Annual Passes. I'm hoping I can use FP+ for my whole trip, but we will see! I'm going to try linking my AP's to the app today and see what happens!

We are at 16 days out. I was expecting my email and letter from Disney yesterday to test the MBs, but nothing came. I've already received my MBs in the mail, and my FP+ selections have been made. Do you think they'll be honored? I've made my touring plans around my FP+ selections.
