magic bands--i have no idea what i am doing...help?!?!

I am planning a surprise trip to wdw with my mom who just finished treatment for cancer. I would like to reveal the surprise by having her magic band under the tree on Christmas morning. But, i havent picked what resort we are staying at (we might stay off park). Is it possible to order magic bandsonkineand then link them with our park passes etc in MDE once i finalize our plans? I cant seem to find a definitive answer on the magic band processes. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

It is possible to purchase MagicBands HERE and then connect them to your MDE account.

if staying on site magic bands are not mailed out to you until just a couple weeks before your arrival.

you can purchase magic bands in advance at the disney world gift shops or you can purchase them online on the disney store website.
once you receive them you can link them to your MDE.

To add, if you stay onsite you will still be sent a Magic Band, even if you purchase one before that. In this case you will actually be able to use both bands (assuming you linked the original to your MDE account).

One other question--have wdw deals for spring been released yet? I am thinking of booking through costco and they said the new deals havent come out yet...this was a few weeks ago, though.

If you don't want to purchase magic bands, since you get them for free when staying onsite; you can purchase a magic band accessory for under the tree. There are some cute magic band sliders on the disney store website.

I would suspect this week may be blacked out from any deals/discounts as it's the week following Easter, which is a common Spring Break week.

I agree WDW will likely not discount rooms that week. Orbitz may have a 15% off code that works though.
