Magic bands for AP?

We bought AP's in late December to begin using on our upcoming December trip. I see them linked to my MDE account...but we were never sent magic bands to go along with them. Last time we had AP's in 2016 we were sent a set of "AP" magic bands. Are they not doing this anymore? I guess we don't technically need them as we will be staying onsite as DVC members but still. Just curious.

You have to activate them first. Until they are used, they won't show up to send magic bands for.

They don't send them until after you activate your AP. So if you activate your pass in Dec, you will get them Jan or Feb 2019.

Gotcha...weird cause I thought we had gotten our last ones prior to activating. Dang 40's...memory must be shot.

Yep. Those bands are shipped out 3-4 weeks before arrival date

We do, but I had remembered getting AP bands last time we had AP's and didn't get them this time so was wondering what was up. I really did think we got them prior to our trip but again, the 40-something memory must be off.

If they are still doing it and you want an uncostumized magicband you can go get them when you are there at the Liberty Square ticket office.

Yep, AP's can't use their MB's on their first visit (difficult to call this a benefit when you don't actually have the benefit.) *Sigh* Guess I'll use my old one, til my new one arrives.

In January I was told I could pick up a magicband if I wanted at the Liberty Square ticket office. Someone backed me up in a thread a while back that this was an option. Things could have changed but I would check and see if you so please.

Some AP purchasers have indeed gotten the page to customize ap bands before they use the APs. It’s some sort of glitch. So you might very well have gotten them early previously.

So maybe I'm not old and infeebled after all!

The nice thing is if staying on property you get that trips band but if not if you have a previous one that will link up to your AP.
