Magic Bands - Changed Resort Reservation

We changed resorts over weekend and it required a whole new reservation. We had already purchased Magic Bands with the original resort reservation. Now MDE is asking me to "Choose my Magic Bands". When I go under Manage Magic Bands or Cards they show that they are active (as well as our Boo Bash tickets). Do I need to do some sort of "re-link" to the new reservation number? Thank you.

Your magicband is simply linked to your MDE account--where your reservation is listed--and not to the specific reservation itself. As long as the bands show as active on your MB list, and your (new) hotel reservation is on MDE, it should be good to go.

There is nothing that you need to do. Everything will work just fine.

Magic Bands are not associated with any specific reservation. Magic Bands contain no information about you or your plans. Bands are merely keys to access your MDE account. Room reservations, ADRs, FP, park tickets, Park reservations, etc. are stored only in your MDE account and are accessed from there. Any changes to any of those items (like a room change) update your MDE account and are immediately available via any active Magic Bands you have. Magic Bands are interchangeable and you can use multiple bands if you do choose.

Since it's "a whole new reservation," MDE doesn't realize you had an earlier reservation and ordered MBs through that link. It's programmed to offer opportunity to order new MBs with every new reservation confirmation number.

Thanks for all of the replies !!! Just jumped onboard to ask the same question ! We had a trip booked for 8/26, that I cancelled--- rebooked for 12/23, but MB's were already ordered and shipped. I called Disney when I switched our reservation date and was told that when the new bands came, I would have to link them--- just tried on MDE, and gave me an error message that they are already linked to a reservation. Glad to know that we dont have to do anything else ! You guys are the best !!!
