Magic Bands and Magical Express

Do you need to swipe your magic bands to get on Magical Express? My DD wants to wear hers on the plane.

One person does. It can be anyone in the party. I put ours on before we landed. At the first point right by the counter, I tapped mine and the CM said "(our last name) party of 3 staying at All-Star Movies?" I confirmed and he told us which aisle to go down. Then as we approached the bus, I had to tap it again. Same thing and he said, "Welcome aboard."

You can, yes. I think they are still sending paper vouchers, too.

Yes, they still send the vouchers, but if you have your band handy you don't need them and its a lot faster.

We thought we would use our Magic Bands as our "ticket" back to the airport on Magical Express, but the bus driver insisted on seeing everyone's paper tickets. Fortunately, I threw our confirmation in my purse when we received it at the room the day before, but others weren't as lucky. One family was denied boarding and had to wait for the next bus while they went back inside the hotel to get a new copy of their confirmation. This was on May 27th and we got on at Boardwalk. Maybe it was a new driver.

I took Magical Express from Wilderness Lodge on 5/25 and the driver collected the confirmation papers.

Right, Magicbands don't help for the trip back. You have to have your Transportation Notice. They hang it on your door the day before your departure. It has instructions for departure and the names of the people in your party as well as the time the bus should depart your resort. That is what the driver taking you back to the airport takes. Look for that then, and a separate packet with boarding passes if you use RAC.

The only reason we wore our bands once we left the room for the final time was because we had some food credits left and the children wanted to wear theirs.
