Hi all,

I was talking to a CM at Disney last night regarding our trip in Dec/Jan time and he mentioned that the Magic Bands would be officially rolled out to everyone in November. :cool1:

I am not sure whether this information has been posted before, but I thought I would mentioned it just in case.

I love the idea of these - Esp the FP+ as we rarely make it for rope drop and some of the "Big" rides are always out. Although I envisage for those without it TSM maybe even more of a mission to get FP's for now. But saves running across MK to get FP for Little Mermaid which my DD's LOVED last time!
:confused3 Its cute but not worth a 60 minute Q!

Do you know when in November? Likely the start? We check in on the 5th November and will be really disappointed if we don't get to try out MagicBands.

I would wait before getting too excited - they are planning a roll out this year but it is still in testing and could be delayed.

They have a target however nothing is set in stone yet :goodvibes (I have friend who is a CM and has been working on the project)

Personally I am dreading Magic Band and everything being tied together but only because we aren't you average visitor - we have DVC, APs and then to stretch points book UK free dining with tickets but never use the tickets at the same time as the package. I am really scared that they are going to end up putting the tickets on my band and knocking off a valid AP or something. At least with the cards it was down to me!

I have been able to make FP+ selection today so here's some feedback

our check in date is Oct 18th at AoA, and Oct 21st at POR

we don't have a ticket linked for AoA (we have a 1 day hopper we keep as paper ticket and 2 MNSSHP tickets)
we have a 21 days ultimate ticket for our stay at POR

- I was unable to select another magicband color. It looks like it's stuck at grey.
- Personalisation was limited to entering the name we want printed on the inside of the band.
- I was prompted for a shipping adress in France. Not sure if we will receive the bands at home (I've been able to place 2 orders, one for each stay) or if they will be waiting for us at the resort. The fact that I'm stuck with the grey color makes me think they'll be issued at the resort

- FP+ selection was incredibly easy and fast (yup, I've just said that the MDE website was fast ... I can't believe it myself :) )
- I've been able to select only 3 FP+ per day, when some have reported they had up to 4.
- It is possible to select all of the headliners for the same day (I've got multiple days at MK with the 3 mountains booked one after the other. Return time range of 1 hours (space from 2 to 3, splash from 3 to 4, BTMRR from 4 to 5 for example)
- I've been unable to make FP+ selections after my 15th day. The website says I've used up all of my FP+. I think I've hit a "MagicYourWay" wall. Stays in the US are limited to 14 nights, which makes 15 days. So despite the fact that I have a 21 day ticket, I'm being blocked. I'll try to find an answer to that one
- the more I proceeded with FP+, the less "experiences" were available. I ended up on a DHS day being only able to choose 3 among Star Tours, RnRC, ToT and TSMM ... well, thank you, lol, but it seems odd that only those be available, when on previous days, other experiences were available, such as the muppets, motors, little mermaid, great movie ride, and a few others. I guess it might change, and I will need to do a bit of homework in the future.

overall the experience is fairly good.
I'm still trying to decide if I'm not shooting myself in the foot. Because I've tried to plan my FP+ back to back (2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5 and so on) will this scheme allow me to insert other activities in between, or is this too tight (time needed to wait, ride the first FP+ ride, and go to the next non FP+ ride, wait, ride, and go to the next FP+ ride)
I'm still trying to decide.
hopefully, I still have 2 months to fry my brain with silly questions :)

Hi guys,
Just thought id shed a little magic.

Resort guests at certain resorts are already trialling the magicbands and fastpass+ - we arrive in 34 days and we have been able to customise our magicbands and pick fastpass+ options.

In the beginning i could only pick up to sept 28th, but a few days ago october opened and you can now pick fastpass+ for the whole of october. And october ONLY. No further.

As for magicbands, they should become fully customisable at around 40-30 days before checkin. I was able to pick colours and a name. Mine are being shipped on monday - wether they will actually make it to the UK is another matter.

Oh I'll be upset if we can't customise the bands and chose different colours .... that's about the ONLY thing I was looking forward to about them :rotfl2:

I'm due to fly out on the 30th of Oct, I've heard a lot about having to link tickets - we booked everything through WDTC so dont have ticket "numbers" to link.

Does anyone know if tickets booked through WDTC will automatically be linked to the full reservation?

We booked out Oct 2014 trip through Ocean Florida. I got our US Disney confirmation number from them on Tuesday. When I put that into the MDX website and linked it, it brought up our reservation and showed all our UK 14 day Ultimate Tickets and our Dining Plan credits.

I've just been able to book FP+ until nov 4th

ETA : I'm just off the phone with Disney IT/helpdesk.
They confirmed that MBs did not ship to non-US adresses.

I also raised the issue with the 21 days ultimate tickets.
The system will let you book 14 days worth of FP+ over a period of 21 days. Looks like there is a glitch in the system. The CM told me she would ask the "fullfilment team" to look into this issue. Worst case scenario, I'd be issued a KTTW to be able to get regular FPs in case the issue could not be resolved by the time we check in (and if KTTWs stopped being given to guests in addition to the MBs)

When I go onto MDE all my bits and bobs are already there, I can see everything, and the tickets are there under my resort ressie etc. However there is no mention of how to book FP + or magic bands?

If I click the "manage magic bands" part it asks me to link tickets?

You're only eligible if you stay at a select resort.

and the MB/FP+ feature is only available after your online check in (60 days out)

you still have a few days to wait.

Once you see the online check in is available (bell icon under the icons on the right) just do OLCI
and then the next couple of days, you should be able to customise MBs and make FP+ reservations

keep on checking, but you probably won't be able do to anything until you reach the 60 days mark which will be roughly in 8 days for you

Ahh thanks! Makes sense - My 60days is on the 2nd of September so not long! I'm staying at the Yacht Club so fingers crossed its either still "testing" or the entire thing has "gone live"!! :dance3:

I check in at The Beach Club on 6/10 and booked through Disney UK. My ticket appeared in MDE last week & I've been able to book Fastpass+ today. I've also customised my Magic Band. At first the only option was grey but now all the colours are showing.

Im confused about my split stay...

we have 12 nights at CSR followed by 2 at AoA

it appears as though we will have a KTTW card at CSR and Magic Bands at AoA

How will this work with our 21day park tickets which were bought with our CSR package? Will the tickets stay on the card or be transferred to the band?

Everytime I log in I'm prompted to make FP+ reservations however the dates being offered to me are 14days from our AoA check in date. I haven't done any at all as I'm worried that it thinks the tickets are linked to AoA reservation instead of the CSR one and will cause problems at CSR check in :S

So I just chose my bands all different colours but I can't book any fast pass + because I used travel agent. Have to wait until my voucher that I exchange at check in to arrive approx 2 weeks before visit in Oct:-( This is for YC btw)

Sorry for seeming to be a bit slow but I don't understand why if you can customise your MB you can't select FP+, why do you have to wait till you get your TA voucher? Can't your TA provide the US Disney confirmation number and then you can pick FP+ choices ?

Update : I just called WDW who confirmed that AoA will be using magic bands in October but also confirmed that CSR will not.
I double checked that my ticket is linked to my CSR booking which it is. As we will not be able to do FP+ for 12 of the 14 days I am not going to do any as I don't want to risk making a FP+ reservation during our AoA stay any not being allowed to use any 'normal ones' for the whole holiday!

I had my disney res number and it brings up our hotel and MYW package + free dining. I did phone and vouchers that are exchanged at check in wont be delivered until about 2 weeks before.you need to enter numbers from these. It would be good if Disney could do something as they know I have purchased unlimited Ultimate 14 day tickets as this was the condition to get free dining?TA are aware and ,because Disney are still testing this glitch won't change until they officially roll it out.so they say anyway.

Ok so I've got my US Disney reservation and I've put it into MDE and I can see my hotel reservation, the free dining package and all of our 14 day Ultimate tickets does that mean that I still wont be able to make any FP+ choices until I get ANOTHER number ??
