Magic bands and Fastpasses

Hi! We are going to Disney in 2 weeks and I just made some of the fastpass choices last evening. There are 6 of us in our group. Not being in the young generation I do find this whole system with magic bands and fasts plus so much more confusing than going to Disney use to be. We have many different age groups and I got the magic bands mixed up and I made the Mine train for you granddaughter and things like Winnie the Pooh for my teenage girl, I also got more than just that one ride mixed up between the kids. Do they switch bands or are all the fast passes for the family on My Disney experience interchangeable?
Thanks,
PammyPoppins

You can trade off bands once inside the park to use the Fast Passes. I do this all the time with my daughter who loves thrill rides. I make 2 FP reservations and she gets to ride twice. No big deal.

Just to make sure it's clear, fastpasses are not "on" magic bands. Bands are not even required to use fastpasses.

I'm not sure how you mixed up tickets, as there are names on the accounts. But if you did, it might cause less confusion if you try to straighten everything out before you arrive. That might require a call to Disney IT.

If you do want to leave everything the way it is, then yes, magic bands can be used to enter FP lines however you want.

We do this at Everest. My 8 year old and my wife get dizzy going backwards. So my 14 year old and I ride back to back by just trading off wrist bands.

Okay, wait...

Let us consider I have 2 children traveling with me, Sally and Jane. Sally and Jane are both linked to my MDE account and I have done all the FP+ reservation for our party. Sally wants to ride Winnie the Pooh but does NOT want to ride Mine Train. Jane would like to ride Mine Train but does NOT want to ride Winnie The Pooh. When I made my FP+ reservation I mixed up who would like to ride which ride. I said that Sally wants to ride Mine train and Jane wants to ride Winnie the Pooh.

Now, when we go for our return window for Winnie the Pooh, Sally and Jane do NOT have to switch Magic Bands, am I correct? I thought that FP+ reservations were a bit like the DDP in that there is just a total of each FP and anyone in the party could use the reservation? Band switching would only come into play if I had selected Winnie the Pooh for all members, then Jane did not want to ride and Sally said she would ride it twice.

Am I understanding that correctly or have I gone loopy from information overload?!

when you go to the FP to go in and if the CM say you do not have a FP for this ride try a different MB and see if that works your one grand daughter might have to have her sister MB for this one ride and the other way around, or you can go to GR when you first enter and tell them you messed up have a list of the FP you have booked and who want to ride what and they can move things around for you. so that it will not be confusing to you. I would not do this your self since you only have a few days and someone else might get that 7DMT when you are trying to change it to another person.

also it dose not work like I have 4 people andI book 7DMT for 3 people so when I get to the ride we can decided who want to go. you have to decide in advance who want to go on the ride so Tom Jen and Mark want to go on 7DMT they all have a MB ( if you have gone one then once or you get a specie MB linked to the same person these MB are interchangable, since you only have one magic band each person has one) and each one has 7DMT on there MB/MDE and they go through

sorry to be so confusing

Nope, each FP is connected to an individual profile in MDE, not "pooled" in any way.

So if Sally wants to ride something that she does not have a FP for but Jane does, then Sally will have to use Jane's magic band.

Nope. Each FP is assigned to one person's name and ticket on your account. So only that person's MB can access that FP. You need to use that person's MB to access their FP.
