All the reservations are made through my MDE account. If we eat at the restaurant is it necessary to scan each MB or do we need just one band scanned like we did in the past with the credit card ticket? I just want to have everything easy to keep track of so I'm sorry if this question has been asked numerous times but I've been reading for some time and have been unable to find the answer.
Thanks!

If you are all on the same resort reservation, they will only ask for one band.:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this question! I was wondering the same thing!
Thanks for the answer :0)

On clarification I think I should make is that if you are all in the same resort reservation only one band needs to be scanned, but that band needs to be someone with a pin enabled band and if you want to do charge-back to the room for the tip the band has to have that enabled. I know my kids always wanted to be the person presenting their band for everything. My 10 year old had pin enabled but no charge priv and my 6 year old didn't have either. They couldn't present their bands since we always did charge-back on the tip.

If you have multiple room dining plans present make sure you let the waiter know, they are very good at splitting the bills when this happens (although Downtown Disney tends to grumble a lot more when doing it.)

Is it a problem if my husband and I want to eat dinner at 1 restaurant and my son at another? We are going to do a 2 credit lunch (3 of us) while my son does a quick lunch at another restaurant (2 of them) We have 5 on our dining plan but it'll show up as using TS and QS credits at the same time. Is there a problem with that?

We have split up numerous times. Should be no problem!

Don't forget to add charging privileges to your son MB so he can leave tips or order that special drink ect.

Thanks! I may do that. If I don't, he can use a gift card, correct? Also, the band will work (for him) at a restaurant I'm not present at if there are no charging privileges?

yes
yes

as long as he will follow the rules of what you say for charging. I would just allow him to charge.

Glad I saw this thread! Thanks for posting Mambo Junkie! So just to make sure I got this right...As long as your magic band is connected to a cc (and you got your PIN number) you can do tips through your magic band?

How would it work if we use our ddp through the MBs but want to do a cash tip instead? Is it a pain to do it that way?

(MBs are making me feel like a newb all over again...boo...haha)

yep :lmao:

Just put big zero on the tip line sign for anything extra you ordered, leave cash on table.

Its not really a pain if your a cash person. Some peeps don't like carrying around cash.

Your Magic bands are connected to your resort charge account, not a cc.

Your cc is connected to the resort charge account.

Here's is where it gets silly you don't have to use connected cc to pay off room charges you can use cash, gift card other cc.

Limits are 500 for value resorts, 1000 for moderate and 1500 for deluxe.

Thank you Lauradis for the quick response! I know times are a changin' but man I hate playing catch up! Lol.

Are those limits per night or for the whole stay?

Per night??, someone's planning a PARTY :rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously though, It's not really per anything. You can charge upto that amount to your room before you pay for it. Then it starts all over again. So say Mon/Tue/Wed I charge a TOTAL of $1500 to the room, Wed evening I pay it (card/cash/gift card whatever), then I have another $1500 that I can charge before I have to clear it again

Hahaha I wish I was planning a party!! No I'm thinking more like if I approach or go over $500 im gonna cry! I'm sure I'll have a bunch of nice Disney souvenirs but I'll be kicking myself for sure... Haha!

That makes sense though, thanks pad406. Im going to have to be money-conscious if I do this MB room-charging plan is all.

I'm bored today and avoiding washing the dog or cleaning the house. :thumbsup2

We have Value planned for dec 2015, im not thrilled about having only a 500 limit. I wish they would let you pick your own credit limit.

Our plan is to try for chef table over at VA which is rumored to run around 700+ so no magic band charging that one :sad2:

my planning ocd panties will be annoyed. :lmao:

Limit is when you hit it they charge your card attached to acct so you can charge more.
