Magic Bands and Credit Cards

We are a party of 7. Four of us are family and 3 others are friends. I only want my family to be able to charge to my on-file credit card and want the non-family members of our party to charge to their own credit cards. Can I set this up in advance or does it have to be done when we check in at SSR?

Can only be done in person at the front desk of your resort.

During online checin you will set up a CC and a PIN for each person (over 9, in my experience). You could simply not tell them the PIN you selected, which will keep them from charging.

If they want to set up their own charging account with MBs they will do that at the front desk, and can change their PINs from whatever you set them as. Please be sure to have them check back soon after the first charges to make sure their charges are going to their CCs.

My friend and I tried having our own separate credit cards on the same room a few years back. Didn't work well. My friend's name was on the room reservation, so her credit card was the main one on the reservation. I set up my own separate credit card with my own PIN at check-in.

For three straight days, ALL of our charges went to my friend's credit card. Had to keep going to the front desk to get them separated out. Was assured each time that the problem was fixed, but the charges kept being assigned to my friend's card only. After the third time, we gave up, and I started using my own credit card for each transaction instead of charging to the room. What a hassle!

Disney might have fixed this by now, but I'd have a backup plan just in case. And be sure to check often; it sure would have been a hassle if we'd waited until the end of the trip to separate things out!

Have they worked out the kinks on this? We had more than a few struggles in 2014 and one or two in 2015.
