Magic Bands and APs

I'm sure this has been answered some where, but dang if I can find it. My husband and I have DVC AP vouchers that I was able to link to our upcoming BWV stay. We are staying at BWV before a week long cruise. I recently added a stay a YC for after our cruise. I have been given the option to order another set of bands for that stay (first bands are in processing). How does this work with APs? Will I be able to link the APs to both bands? And if I can will either band work to get me in to the parks? My hope is that I can order two different colors and pick whichever one looks best with that days outfit (yes I am that much of a dork)! My thought is if the AP is linked to different bands, once the one of the bands has been used to get in to the park, the other would be blocked.

If the AP can only be linked to one band will I need to link it to the second reservation after I activate my AP during the first trip? I'm hoping to some way link everything on one or two bands before I get there so I do not have to spend valuable park time setting up the bands for that stay. TIA!

Yes, you can link an AP to two bands. You simply have your AP attached to your profile in MDE. If you have two magic bands, your AP is automatically linked to the Magic Band. If it isn't automatic, you can enter the ticket confirmation number and link it that way. Both are active and you can use one per day.

That being said. Magic Bands are still testing so there can be all sorts of glitches. But if everything works as it should, you shouldn't have a problem.

The Bands don't actually store any information. Each band has a chip that can access information from Disney's database. When the band is created for you the chip is programmed to read the information in your MDE account. Therefore, any band that is programmed for you will access the same information.

They are currently sending out one band per person per reservation. Eventually they will just send out one band per person and you will be expected to bring it back trip after trip. While they are sending out the extras you might as well customize them. If you don't they will still send you gray bands. I have three bands right now and if they continue the way they are now I will have seven by January. I'm just choosing a different color each time.
