I am completely confused. In my account we have the option of customizing three different sets of magic bands.

1 set for Annual Pass holders
1 set for our resort reservation that includes dining plan
1 set for an extra 2 nights at our resort without dining plan

We are going for 1 week in May. I also have our old magic bands from the fall when we stayed at POP, those were also linked to our AP cards. Im not sure I even have those bands anymore, if it even matters.

So what do I do? Do I just customize all three sets? Will our AP's be linked to all three, or will it only be liked to the AP magic band set?

confused...:confused::confused::confused:

We are also AP holders and will end up with 3 sets of MBs by the end of April. We have one set from our trip two weeks ago. We have a set that just shipped yesterday for our upcoming stay next month. We have a set that is "processing" for our AP status. The order that has shipped is now linked on MDE to our APs, along with our AP cards and first set of MBs. I can only assume that they will ALL end up linked, and we'll be able to use them interchangeably.

What I'm curious about is... are we really going to end up with a new set of MBs for EVERY trip we book this year?! By the time this year is over, it's likely we'll be staying onsite for at least 4 separate visits... that'll be 4 sets of MBs for resort stays, and 1 set of MBs for our APs. That is a HUGE waste of money on Disney's part! :headache:

When did those with APs get to customize those bands?

We have a set that has been ready to customize for a while, linked to a resort reservation for Oct (and we have APs on there that expire in Sept).

I then linked AP exchange vouchers last week, but nothing yet about a set to customize for these new APs. Will/should there be?

Makes no difference how many bands you have. any of them should work as long as your AP and your resort reservations/packages are all linked to your MDX account, and you have not deactivated that particular band on your account. You do not have anything linked to any particular band. All the bands do is access your MDX profile.

Slight correction: That is a HUGE waste of YOUR money on Disney's part!

You better believe the increased cost for MagicBands is included in every single room night booked. Disney's profits remain the same, the cost is passed on to you.

I have a ridiculous amount of bands. We have annual passholder bands. We have bands from our 2013 Christmas trip which were 4 sets of bands because we resort hopped. Then I just switched my resort for my April trip so we have those bands plus 2 more sets coming for the resorts that I switched to. Then I will have more bands for our Christmas 2014 trip.

part of me is okay with collecting all the colors, but then again - I really just like the green one which is the first one I ordered. So I agree this a waste of my money. I'd rather keep one until I had to replace it for some reason (lost/broken). I assume after the testing phase the system will know if we already have magic bands and will stop sending new ones out.

If you do not customize them and, more importantly, don't update/confirm your address, they won't ship them. So if you have one set and you don't want any more, do that (or I should say, don't do anything) and bring your existing bands on your next trip. If they try to give you grey ones, just don't take them. Any band that is attached to your MDE all pulls from the same information in there, so additional bands are just redundant. You can collect all the colors if you want, but if you don't want to, you don't have to.

Now, the AP bands do come with the discount card and slider, and I don't know any other way just to get those parts without the band. But otherwise, if you can resist, you can keep them from being customized and shipped.

I customized about 3 weeks ago and they arrived on Tuesday.

I thought all AP holders were getting new bands. The box is different than the box my other bands arrived in - it says pass holder, there are 2014 pass holder sliders included and a card that says AP parking on it.
