Does any1 know if everyone will use magic bands by next year
We are staying at ssr from the 19th May for 14 nights with 14days tickets and ddp and we would really like the magic bands

And if so when do we know we have them and can custom them etc?
 
They are now rolled and testing at all resorts. I can't see them withdrawing them now.

At the moment they are appear to releasing them for customisation around 70 days before check in.
 
Almost certainly!

It would cost disney WAY too much to withdraw now. And hopefully the issues will be ironed out in six months time.
 

Yes. Officially they are still in testing but that is now across all resorts. We are here now staying at SSR and it looks to me like they are here to stay.
 
I asked about the magic bands this morning whilst doing our adr's, they said there was still no definite information but will know after 05/01/14 what the next stage is. Also that it will be able to get/customise them nearer the time as others have said :thumbsup2
 
Great we can't wait, eventually got my US reservation number today at 189 days out so have now linked reservation now just need to to sort out adrs next week :-)
 
We travel on 11th March 2014 and have just got the option to customise our Magic Bands. I just checked a couple of days ago and the option wasn't there so not sure whether it becomes available a certain number of days before (we are at 109 days).

I read (can't find the link now - doh!) that they have released the MyMagic+ features for all check ins up to 31 March 2014. Which means I assume that Magic bands are now available to customise a bit earlier :goodvibes
 
We just customised ours as well. We are now at 79 days! Only 19days till FP+ YAY!
 
can you start pre booking fast pass attractions for certain days before even being at WDW now? :confused3

Yes, you can

It is all still very new and subject to change but is anticipated that you FP's will be bookable 60 days out, give or take, it seems. I see you are also going next year, and hopefully by the time we all travel things will be a whole lot more certain :)
 
I ve booked through virgin and only half our tockets are showing on disney website. We are staying at beach club. Will we still be able to book fo+ etc?

You can only book FP+ for those people that have valid tickets linked.

If they do not show by themselves you might need to give Disney IT a call however there are still lots of glitches especially around UK packages and ticket so I wouldn't panic just yet!

Thanks! I ve been going round in circles trying to get the last two tickets linked. Disney blame virgin and virgin play dumb and say it makes no difference if my tickets are linked(despite me telling them it does). Really frustrating me!
 
We had booked through Travelocity and it caused a bit of issues. Couldn't link the tickets until we picked them up at the gate and then only three out of four linked as there was a delay and so they locked out one of them. Guest services were awesome and made sure we could all do a fast pass plus though. Really neat how easy the bands were. Your room key, your photo pass, your park admission, your charge for eating and merchandise. Really a one stop shop.

When are you going? They need to be linked by 60 days for FP+.

However as long as it shows correctly on your invoice from VH then it should sort itself out.

I know how frustrating it is (I had issues with a reservation showing the correct people and that was booked through Disney US!) however unless you are closing in on a booking window my advice is wait as they are working at sorting the issues albeit slowly :rolleyes1

I have been speaking to Claire and she has been amazing. She has helped with so much. I was using the Facebook page and ringing them and never getting any where feeling very frustrated and slightly regretting booking through them. After talking to Claire (she lives in Florida) I felt a lot better. She actually knew about magic bands and fast pass plus.

Great thanks I will try that. Not used virgin before and to be honest they ve been awful so far! They even sent me through a revised invoice for an extra £800 and told me I was wrong. After hours and hours they worked out they were wrong!

Tell me about it. Their customer service is pretty poor. When we flew with them last year (booked through disney) we were so impressed with their staff on board. Just seems the rest of the team lets every one down.

Claire though is brilliant :)
