Magic band ?

So I know we get the bands from disney for our trip that once activated has all our information on it...my question is I want to buy one's from the new disney shopping app on my phone for stuff in the stores at disney. How would I get these bands activated if I choose to order them in time for our trip. Is it done at the resort. I am hesitant because I remember our last trip our bands were scanned at the airport? any help would be great thanks

The bands have an ID number written on the inside. Log into MDE and click on MagicBands and Cards on the drop down menu. Scroll to the bottom where it says Don't See A Purchased MagicBand? and click Link. Select MagicBand from the menu. You enter the ID number on the next page.

I just purchased the Cinderellas Castle magic band on that app! It should be delivered any day now! There is an ID number to link to MDE. I will be doing that as soon as I get it!

If you're technologically challenged like me, they can also link it to your account at guest services when you check in!
