I know the Magic Band serves as ticket/fast pass/room entry and so on. I'm debating about leaving everything else in the room except for some cash. What I'm wondering is what if I want to order alcohol? I guess I need to stick my drivers license in my pocket and carry it as well?

To receive any discount you are eligible for, you need to show proof of discount (AP Card/AP Discount Card/DVC Member Card/TiW Card/AAA Card/etc.) and a Photo ID.

Yes, you'll need ID for that. I usually bring my ticket (on whatever media: MBs, RFID card, etc.), my ID, and a small amount of cash ($30 or less).

My vote leave EVERYTHING in the room only take the magic band. I ended up leaving everything in room, took no cash no ID. DW and I were never carded the entire time.

The one time DW took her wallet into Down down Disney in case she needed ID, she lost it! Cash, drivers license, debit cards gone! We had just sat down and ordered our dinner when she realized it was gone. The great thing is someone turned it in at customer service and she was able to get it back with everything intact.

From that point on we only took the magic bands, rain ponchos, sunscreen, and water bottles to the parks.

I took an ID, insurance card, and small amount of cash. I'd rather carry a tiny bit extra than get stuck without something if the Magic Band isn't working properly. The system is getting better (I hear) but it is still a little glitchy.

The one time my husband left the room with nothing but the MB, the band decided to crap out (for no reason--the CMs were perplexed) and he had no way to pay for anything or get back into the room. Better him than me! LOL. But based on that, I do think that it makes sense to go with some sort of backup.

I would never go anywhere without some form of official photo ID on my person, magic band or otherwise. I also carry my health insurance ID at all times. You just never know when you might need those items due to unforeseen circumstances.

You should ALWAYS carry a photo ID and your insurance card. You never know when something might happen and you won't have time to go back to your room to get them.

Yes. Bring your photo ID.

I'm 49. I don't look anywhere near 21. I don't get carded much but it HAS happened occasionally. Therefore I can't take the word of another poster who says "I was never carded and you won't be either."

If you have an AP and you want to redeem it for discounts or free parking at the parks, you must carry the AP or the yellow AP card you were issued, plus a photo ID. If you're DVC and you want discounts you need to carry your DVC member card. Photo ID too. Same with AAA discounts. If you have a Tables in Wonderland you must carry the card with you and there is a possibility they may ask you for a photo ID.

Personally I would find some more secure way of keeping anything you are carrying than putting it in a pocket - I may be the only one but I find that things fall out of pockets. Unless you have cargo pants with pockets you can secure, or a jacket with zippered pockets, something like that.

Photo ID weighs very little, takes up very little room. I can't imagine going outside of my home without. Additional few pieces of paper or plastic mentioned above, equally important, equally small and light. I guarantee you that you will not be weighed down by them.

I always bring my ID with me - I'm in my late 20s, but look younger than I actually am. I have to make sure I can enjoy my favorite drinks in Epcot! :)

Take your id.....if your band doesn't scan right....or more likely your finger doesn't, you will have to have your id to have it reset.
I had to do that once last trip and twice in Jan

Make sure you have some cash and/or debit/credit card with you. We went to one location and the system was down so they were not able to charge to the room.

My husband and I carried our ID's in a closed pocket inside of our Bag of Pain. However, we both ordered alcohol and no one asked to see it. I guess our age is obvious.
