Magic Band vs Lanyards vs Extra Magic Hours

With Magic Bands, is there still a need/use for lanyards? The last time we went, we loved having lanyards to hold our KTTW card to quickly and easily show the CMs during Extra Magic Hours, but now that the KTTW has all but gone the way of the dodo bird, is there still a use for lanyards? Also, how does Magic Band work with Extra Magic Hours?

2- Also, how does Magic Band work with Extra Magic Hours?

1- You can wear the band on a lanyard instead of your wrist, if you like.
Otherwise, no need.

2- The CM's scan them. For PM EMH, they scan the bands at the entrance to the individual ride queues.
