Magic Band scanning issue...

We have have had issues with restaurants scanning magic bands our entire trip. It's ultimately worked out until eating at the Boathouse. They scanned the band and I entered my pin. However after a few minutes they came back and said the computer frozen. I ended up paying with a card. Now I'm nervous that I'll be charged twice. How does this work? I never signed anything for the magic band... Would they process it without that?

Your pin is your signature essentially, so they could.

Go to the front desk and ask for a printout of your charges. If they charged, explain what happened and they'll take it off.

Thanks. Is there a set time where things would show up by? I know it's usually instant, but a similar issue happened at trattoria al forno earlier in the week. That when did go through while I was there, but didn't show up on my printout until 2 days later. The fact that Boathouse isn't technically a Disney restaurant makes me nervous.

It should be there by the evening. If it's not, I would just carry on. Check your statement again on checkout just in case.

I wouldn't worry too much. They will correct it for you. Especially if you can show your cc receipt as well as the room charge.

Disney is very good about making corrections when needed. We had some issues during "free dining" when CMs would sometimes add tips through our magic bands even though we had paid the tip in cash. I always write "cash" on the tip line and check my statement at the resort. The resort had no problem removing the extra charges.
