Magic band- reuse for multiple trips?

We got ours in the mail yesterday! Already planning what color I want for July!! I actually like the grey but then I would feel like people are judging me for not customizing. That's completely crazy talk but someone understands.

Yes, you still have to do the finger scan.

Yes they will. Whatever is on your "file" the band will pull from the servers. So if you have room reservation in the server your band will pull that info.

Leads to another question then, why are they sending bands or each trip? Or at least give the option of not getting another band for an upcoming trip. I'll have three bands in the span of 3 months.

I think a watch that slips on the MB is an excellent idea. I wasn't interested in decorating my band but I would have loved a watch. With FP+, I found I was constantly checking the time or my phone. I hated to turn on my phone just to check the time.

They are still "testing" so they keep shipping out new bands for every new on-site reservation. As others have mentioned the batteries that run the long-range RFID in the bands should last 3 years so really there is no reason to keep sending bands. Just Disney making a wasteful mistake. I'm sure there will be a system in place for reusing bands once testing is over. Till then collect them all I suppose I have 2 sets laying on my desk as I type this. I just deactivated one set actually.

Like, if I get tired of my green band I ordered for my upcoming Feb trip, can I use my old pink one without problems in terms of room charging, will it still work as my AP etc?

Yup as long as you have it active and linked in MDE.

You can go to the Front Desk at your resort and have them switch the band on record, or you should be able to do it through the MDE app (website or phone)

But you don't NEED to do that. As long as each band is active in MDE (meaning you didn't deactivate them), they are ALL on record and are used interchangeably!

If I didn't do anything to my MB from our OCT trip they should work on our March trip, right?

I'm here now and the bands given to us for this trip work and the bands from our previous two trips also work- for everything from park access, room access, room charge, etc.

I have an MB from a Dec trip. My friend will have one from her early March trip. I am visiting my friend in FL in mid March and we want to go to Epcot for one day. We are doubtful we are going to stay the night in Orlando (although I found CBR and CSR for only $155-160/night on Travelocity! Tempting!). If we don't stay the night on property, will we be able to link our tickets back to our old MBs and get our FP+ early?? I hope so!!!
