Magic Band Question

I have a Disney Reward Card and a Disney Gift Card I'd really like to upload onto my magic band to pay for things like $ILL but only see a way to upload an actual credit card. Is there no way to do that?

You can use the rewards card and gift card to pay off your magic band purchases at the front desk of your resort before you check out.

No, you can only link a credit card.

You can't upload a gift card to your MagicBand, but you can't really upload your credit card to your MagicBand, either. That's not really a thing.

Your credit card is linked to your room folio and your My Disney Experience profile. Your MagicBand charges things to your room account, not directly to your credit card (or, in this hypothetical, a gift card). As @wdw71 said, you can pay off your room charges with a gift card at the front desk.

Yes, I know, but you can link it to your account, but you cannot link a gift card.

Also worth noting that you can now use gift cards to pay for mobile food orders directly in the app. It doesn't get stored so you have to type the number in every time, but at least it's an option.

But I could go to the front desk after check in and have them upload the two cards to my account and use them up first before using my credit card???? If I understand what you are saying in these responses?

No. You can only have the front desk pay down an existing balance with Disney Gift Cards and/or Disney Rewards Cards.

No, you would use your band to charge things to your room. Then, every couple of days, you take your gift card to the front desk and use them to pay down your balance.

I put my gift card on file with the hotel and I thought I could scan my magic band to use it but found out (when it didn't work) that it doesn't work that way lol. I ended up paying for everything at the parks with the e-version of the gift card (CM would scan either a photo or an open internet window on my screen that had the UPC of the gift card) directly. At end of trip also used gift card to settle room invoice but that was for room/parking charges only.
