Magic Band Question

So I know they are doing away with free magic bands in 2021, but if you currently have a reservation for next year, the website still lets you select them. Is this just a glitch? I went ahead and requested them, but I'm not expecting to actually receive any. It's not a big deal because I already have some from our last trip, but I am curious.

If you booked your trip before the announcement your grandfathered and still get the bands. I also have a reservation for next year and that is what i was told.

Do you know exactly when that was announced? I can't remember if I heard it before or after I booked my trip (but I'm thinking it was after, so possibly good news for me.)

If you purchase the upgraded bands at the discount they ship them almost immediately. If you're going for the plain bands I am not sure if you'll receive them or not (grandfathered).

I’m not sure of the exact date. I booked for the Star Wars run next April at the eleven month mark.if that helps.

I just picked the plain ones to see what happens because the ones we already have are the upgraded ones. If I have to just use those, I don't really mind.
