Magic Band question

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get Magic Bands if we aren't staying at a Disney property?

You can buy them on Disney property (in the parks, Disney Springs, Swan/Dolphin gift shop) or order online on DisneyStore.com or the Shop Disney Parks app.

Thanks! We can't actually order them, as they appear not to shop to Canada. But as long as we can get them there, we are all set.

I'm fairly certain the Disney Store ships to Canada.

Maybe you are confusing WDW not shipping resort magic bands to Canada, that are included with a room reservation?

A few months ago I checked on the Disney Store site and you could add magic bands to your order, but at checkout time it would give me the standard "some or one of the items in your basket is not eligible for shipping to your region, please check details" and of course it was the Magic Band. But that was back in June / July. Maybe its different now.

I haven't gotten a straight answer as to why they wont ship, but the common theme seems to have something to do with shipping items with RFID chips in them. Who knows... I'd rather pick them up when I arrive anyway. Its one less thing I have to worry about forgetting at home!!

In order for a company to sell any type of wireless device in a country, they must get clearance from that country's communications regulator that their device meets their regulations and doesn't do things like interfere with frequencies used by emergency responders. In the U.S., Disney gets their MagicBands approved by the FCC. If they wanted to get them cleared for sale in (or ship them to) Canada they'd have to get them evaluated and approved by the CRTC (Canadian equivalent of the FCC). It's not a simple process to get approved. They likely just don't see the benefit seeing as the devices will never actually be used in Canada, only possibly shipped and then brought back into the US.
