Hi! I am confused about the magic bands. We are staying off site and I understand we can get the bands when we get there. Does everyone in the party (7 of us, 5 adults/2 kids) need to buy one? Do we all have to make the same fastpass time for attractions for the 3 per day to go together? Very excited, first time back to Disney World in 35 years!

Thanks!
Linda

1- Does everyone in the party (7 of us, 5 adults/2 kids) need to buy one?

2- Do we all have to make the same fastpass time for attractions

3- for the 3 per day to go together?

1- Nope. (Guests without a MB can just use their regular RFID tickets.)

2- Nope. (Each person can have a different set of FP's.)

3- But to ride a FP attraction TOGETHER, every person in the group
(age 3 and older) must have a FP for that attraction at that same (or similar) time.

.

Wait, so if I am reading the answer to #2 correctly, i can book 1 fp for 2pm for me, and the rest of my family can ride then with me!?

No, each person over 3 must have a FP to ride in the FP line. He simply meant you don't need to buy a MB to use FP+. Just link your tickets and use the card at the Mickey head stations.

ETA: you do not all need to have the same FP but each person who wants to ride a particular ride with a FP must have one.

But question 2 wasn't about magic bands, it was if everyone needs to have the same fastpass time to go together. I thought yes, but the answer said nope. We haven't been since the new fastpass+ stuff so I thought I had old info.

I think Robo thought he was asking if everyone had to have the same FP. Everyone does not, but yes, everyone must have one to ride the ride.

He is simply stating that the members of a group need not have the same FPs. Everyone in the group does need FP to enter an FP queue.

No, the "nope" was that each person can have their own FP+, so mom and daughter can go visit the princesses with FP+ while dad and son go on Buzz with FP+ at the same time. The whole family does not need the same FP+.
