Magic band pickup

Hello all,
We are leaving in one week for Orlando and plan to do 3 days at Disney. I have booked one night in the middle of our week at Fort Wilderness. We plan to do Epcot the day of check in but want to get an early start. I have been told that I can pick up magic bands a few days before check in but would like to confirm that this is true. Thanks!

Afaik the bands don’t arrive at the check-in desk until the morning of your check-in date.

I tried getting them early on a 1-night Fort Wilderness camping stay in the middle of our offsite week. No dice. This last stay, we had a stay at the same resort but on two different reservations, just by how things worked out. We got two sets of bands, but again the second set wasn’t available for pickup until the check-in day for the “second stay.”
