Magic band payment and arrival

I just ordered a magic band for one person in our group. The magic band shows up beside their name. I ordered it and it never asked for payment. When do I pay for it?
It should arrive within 30 days of our trip, right?
 
Reservations in place prior to the announcement of no more complimentary MagicBands were grandfathered in. If payment was required at the time of order, you wouldn't have have been able to complete the order process without entering payment info. Since you weren't required to enter payment info, the MB was complimentary.

At approximately 30 days prior to check in, the MB will be processed and shipped out.

My reservation was made in December 2020 for September 2021. I ordered the magic band last week, January 2021. It showed a cost of $5 but did not ask me for payment. Does this sound right? It is free?

Probably should have been prompted to enter payment since the reservation was made after the announcement. Did you get an email confirmation after you completed the order?

No email. After clicking on "complete" nothing appears to happen but it shows up under the person's name as shown below.

Did it let you go all the way through actually completing? I ask because there are three of us on my reservation. I went in a chose a band for one out of the 3. It shows by their picture/avatar. BUT, it never took me to a checkout because I didn’t pick a band for the other two. Seems to me like it is an all or nothing, maybe that’s what happened to you, too?

That looks like what happened. I reused magic bands for two people and ordered one from the Disney shop for my daughter but it has not arrived yet. So that made it look like one person in my group did not have a magic band and would not let me complete the order for the other person.
 
Just ordered ours as well and shows up under my name and says $5 but never asked for payment or says it will be mailed? And we just booked our resort last week so after free band offer is over?
 
We also weren't taken to the screen to check out until we had made selections for everyone in our party. I think if you want to order a MB for just one person, you have to do so by paying full price from shopdisney.com--looks like the subsidized bands with resort stay are only if you buy for everyone on the reservation.
 
I would guess it didn’t complete. I had that happen last year when I was trying to buy bands without buying it for everyone in my group. I went back looked a month later when they hadn’t come and the band I wanted was no longer available and I had to get one for everyone in the group to finish the transaction. Same thing when I ordered last month. My husband is reusing his Haunted Mansion band, but I got him a cheaper band just so the other 3 of us could get new bands
 
Oh my, we are staying in a two bedroom with six other people and everyone else but my husband and I bought theirs on shop Disney. So now I can’t get mine on MDE? Disney sometimes can make things complicated!

Okay, I take it back, I think I have figured out a workaround. If you go into the magic band order, click "Select" for a person other than you or your husband, and when you get to the screen where you can see the magic band options, under their name should be a blue link that "Reuse a magic band." Click that, and then repeat for everyone else in your party. Hopefully once that is done, and everyone either has a magic band selection or has opted to "Reuse", you should be able to complete the order.

I didn't actually attempt this because I do want to order MBs for everyone in my party and didn't want to screw it up, but I am thinking that might be the solution.

Yes, that is exactly what I did and it worked. Only had to pay for the 1 person in group.
